14 levels have been completed in Day 1B of the Stranger in the Night Poker Fundraiser, and from the 130 that started the night there were 23 left when it was time to bag the chips for Day 2. Joel Giguere took charge late in the flight and finished the night with an impressive 433,000 chips moving forward, which is the second biggest stack recorded through two flights and 194 entries. His 144 big blind stack more than doubled any other player from this flight, and rivals current chip leader Francois Cote, who closed Day 1A with 493,500 (164bb). Full counts are found in the table below.
Two more flights remain tomorrow (Day 1C at 12pm, and Day 1D at 7pm), and with a $75,000 guarantee set on the Event and only 194 entries in the books so far, players might be seeing some added value in their tournament if the quota of players is not reached. Why not take a chance at claiming a piece of the prize? Drinks are on the house and every $25 tournament fee from the buy-in will be given as a charity contribution to help support the Strangers in the Night charity initiative.
