In the final level of Day 1C, every pot could be the turning point in someone’s tournament. That turning point might have just arrived for Jean Morency.

Morency was lucky enough to find himself with a healthy lead in a dramatic three-way all-in before the flop. Morency had opened the action from early position and picked up a caller, Patrick Williams, in the small blind before the big blind, Alain Mathieu, moved all-in for around 38,000. Morency quickly moved all-in under for slightly less and the small blindWilliams made the call.

The flop, , offered nothing but gut-shot straight draws for his opponents, and they were blocking each. A pretty good spot for aces! The turn and river, and , fell harmlessly and Morency tripled up.

With less than an hour before the chips get bagged on Day 1C, the players are starting to set their sights on tomorrow. But that’s not to say that they are slowing down. It’s a race to the finish at this point as everyone is looking to take as many chips as possible to Day 2.

The field in Day 1C of the Playground 200 has just returned from their final break of the day for the last three levels of play. At this point in the flight, there is a huge disparity between the rich and the poor, as some players are clinging to life with only a few big blinds while the big stacks have well over 100 big blinds at their disposal.

Even though we are reaching the late stages of Day 1C, the players show no signs of slowing down. As the blinds increase, every pot is now a good spot to steal chips.

Patrick Williams just found himself in a multi-way pot and decided to make a move. He was in position against his two opponents when they saw a flop of . The first player to act led out with a bet of 10,000, which was quickly called before the action got to Williams. After only a moment of reflection, Williams moved all-in and, to everyone’s surprise, both his opponents followed suit and went all-in, putting lots of chips up for grabs. Hands were tabled to reveal that Williams was behind with his , up against the initial bettor’s and . Williams needed runner-runner to win, and he got it! The turn brought the and the followed on the river to give Wiliams the best full house.

Pascal Monarque, the chip leader of Day 1C at the last break, is running hot and shows no signs of cooling down. A hand that just played out shows that he knows how to take advantage of a strong hand when one comes his way.

When four players saw the flop of , it looked like it could be anyone’s pot. Pascal Monarque led out for 8,000 into his opponents and picked up two callers. The on the turn would often slow down the action, but Monarque continued his line with a hefty bet of 20,000. This bet drew a reluctant fold, followed by a quick all-in for roughly 50,000. Monarque’s call was instantaneous and he turned over for the top full house. His opponent rolled over and rose from his chair, knowing that he was drawing very thin. The river didn’t provide the two-outer and Monarque got to stacking his new-found chips.

Play continues in level 11 with 129 players left in the field.

Play has just resumed on Day 1C of the Playground 200, following the second break of the day. The late registration and re-entry period ended after level 6, putting the brakes on the rate of bustouts as the players settled in for the long grind to the end of level 14.

Although there is a long way to go today, several players are heads and shoulders above the field with six-figure stacks.
