    The great flat call

    • Level: 31
    • Small Blind: 60K
    • Big Blind: 120K
    • Button Ante: 120K
    • Chip Average: 2.7M
    • Remaining: 7
    • Entries: 750

    2018/03/27 - 0:24 by Jôle Simard

When Karl Sahyouni open raised to 320K from the button, Grant Ellis flat called, and Alex Barbosa went all-in from the big blind for about 2.8M. Sahyouni got out of the way, and Ellis called instantly with his 1.7M chips.

Ellis: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Spades
Barbosa: Queen of Spades Queen of Diamonds

Board: Jack of Spades King of Hearts Jack of Diamonds 10 of Spades 10 of Hearts

Barbosa has 1.1 million left, or 9 big blinds, while Ellis joined the big stacks of the table. His flat call probably did not change much in terms of chip movement, but it was well thought of and could have prompted a steal attempt.

    Grant Ellis
    Alex Barbosa
