Time has run out in Day 1F of the WPT500, and from a field of 395 entries, 78 have managed to bag some chips onto Day 2. Once the final counts have been submitted, we will add them to the Combined Day 1 Results list, which includes all of the Day 2 qualifiers so far.

The largest stack from tonight’s flight belongs to Dean Murphy, who turned his 30,000 starting stack into a staggering 451,000. Other big stacks from tonight include Andreas K (392,000), Raphael Duval (360,000), and Samuel Spiwak (360,000).

Players have one final chance to participate in the WPT500, with a turbo flight scheduled at 10am Monday morning. Day 2 will take place shortly after, with the restart at 3pm.

Less than 2 levels of play remain for the Day 1F field, and once times runs out in level 16 the surviving players will bag and tag their chips onto Day 2.

There has been a lot of chip movement since the last break, with some new faces emerging amongst the chip leaders. Once play is complete we will have the full list of chip counts from tonights flight, which will be added to the Day 1 Combined Results page.

Peter Bodnar opened the action to 6,000 from early position, and Demo Kiriopoulos 3-bet to 16,000 from the cutoff. Peter replied with a 4-bet to 50,000, and Demo slid forward his 108,000 chip stack to signal his all-in, finding a quick call from his opponent.

Although Demo has a strong starting hand, tabling Queen of Diamonds Queen of Hearts, he would need to find some help to overcome the King of Spades King of Clubs of Peter. With no such help on the Ace of Clubs 7 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds board, Demo saluted his table-mates and headed off into the distance.

Players now have only 2 levels left to complete before calling it a night.

When we arrived at the tables, action was on the turn in a heads-up pot between Raphael Duval and Louis-Charles Levros. The board read King of Diamonds 6 of Spades 3 of Spades 4 of Diamonds, and there was a bet of 12,600 sitting in front of Louis-Charles, and a large pile of red 5K chips in front of Raphael – large enough to cover Louis-Charles’ remaining stack.

There was silence at the table, and after a few minutes Louis-Charles looked over at his opponent and asked “want me to call time?”. He then looked at the dealer and called time. The dealer did a count down from 30 seconds, and when time was up he announced that the hand was dead. Louis-Charles moved his cards forward face down, as did Raphael, and the dealer mucked both hands before awarding the pot to Raphael.

Louis-Charles was a little surprised to see the chips being pushed towards his opponent, and when he inquired about it, he realized that action was on him this whole time. He had not seen Raphael’s big bet, and had assumed that action was on his opponent the entire time. He was clearly a little devastated about losing the pot in this way, however given the circumstances the floor had no choice but to award the pot to Raphael, who was the last aggressor in the hand.
