Recent Eliminations

Here’s how the last 6 eliminations leading up to the final table happened.

  • 11th place: Miguel Goncalo, $1,485

After a tough few orbits, where Miguel saw his 2.5M chip stack dwindle down to just under 600K, he went all-in when it was folded around to his button. Christopher Rassi, sitting in the big blind with a healthy 2M+ stack, isolated by raising Miguel’s all-in. Once heads-up, Miguel turned over Queen of Diamonds Jack of Clubs, and was going to need some help from the poker gods if he was going to crack Chris’ Ace of Clubs Ace of Hearts. Unfortunately for him, the board came 8 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs 5 of Clubs 7 of Spades 9 of Hearts, and he bubbled the final table.

  • 12th place: Andrew Graham, $1,485

After losing just under 1.2M to Christopher Shakell a few hands earlier, where Andrew’s Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs fell second best to Chris’ Ace of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds on a 3 of Clubs King of Clubs 3 of Hearts 4 of Spades 4 of Hearts board, Andrew got his remaining 300K in with Ace of Hearts 10 of Clubs versus the Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds of, once again, Christopher. The board held in favor of Christopher’s hand, and Andrew got eliminated in 12th.

  • 13th place: Dany Madri, $1,295

Troy Hamilton went all-in from the button in an unopened pot, and Dany, who was sitting in the small blind, made the quick call. He was covered by Troy, but had the better hand. His Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades was far ahead of Troy’s King of Diamonds Queen of Clubs, but when the flop came 2 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds King of Clubs, Dany needed some help. The turn and river showed 5 of Diamonds and 6 of Diamonds, thus eliminating Dany in 13th place.

  • 14th place: Matthew Brunskole, $1,295

After surviving a few orbits with a short stack, Matthew finally got his last 3 big blinds from the high-jack position in an unopened pot, and got called by both blinds. The hand was checked down to the end, and Miguel tabled Ace of Diamonds 5 of Spades for two-pair on a King of Spades King of Clubs 10 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds 4 of Spades board, and the two other players mucked, busting Matthew on the hand.

  • 15th place: Alex Fiorani, $1,295

Alex fell shortstack after getting crippled by Alexandros Fixmer, who held a pair of queens versus Fiorani’s A7. He later got his last few chips in with Jack of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds in a four way pot, but was crushed by Evgeni’s Jack of Spades 10 of Spades, who isolated on a Jack of Clubs 10 of Hearts 4 of Spades flop. The turn was the 3 of Spades, which was the only thing that could potentially have helped Alex, but the river King of Spades sent him home.

  • 16th place: Tina Frascarelli, $1,130

With around 7 big blinds left, Tina took advantage of an unopened pot to go all-in from the high-jack position with 395K. Miguel, sitting in the cut-off with roughly 1.7M, made the call, and the other players folded behind.

Tina turned over King of Diamonds 10 of Spades, and found herself behind Miguel’s 10 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds. The board was no help to her, reading 7 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs Jack of Hearts 8 of Spades 4 of Spades, and Tina’s deep run came to an end.
