  • Derrick Rosenbarger is continuing his run here at the final table of the WPT Montreal Main Event, as he just doubled up through Sylvain Siebert, crippling his stack.
Sylvain tried to steal the pot on a Queen of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds 10 of Hearts by going all-in, but he was snap called by Derrick, who had the goods.

Derrek: Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts

Sylvain: 4 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs

The turn 6 of Clubs and river 3 of Spades sealed the deal, and Derrick moved up the leaderboard with his new stack of roughly 9 million.

Sylvain was left with just over 1 million chips, but managed to double it right  after paying Derrick off, when his Queen of Clubs 9 of Spades doubled through Serge Cantin’s Ace of Clubs Queen of Hearts on a Jack of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds 9 of Clubs 4 of Spades 3 of Clubs board.

The Chip Gap is Shrinking between the Final 4

The final table is still running at 4 players, and the stacks are getting closer to each other. Derrick Rosenbarger, who was the shortest stack when 4-handed action started, has climbed up to over 4 million now as he took a few pots along the way.

The estimated chip counts are as follows:

    • Serge Cantin – 8.5M
    • Mukul Pahuja – 7M
    • Sylvain Siebert – 5.7M
    • Derrick Rosenbarger – 4.3M

    Derrick Doubles his Stack

We just saw Derrick Rosenbarger, the shortest of the 4 remaining players, double his stack up to over 2.3M! He went all in with Queen of Clubs 9 of Clubs after Serge had raised from the cutoff, who made the call holding Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds. The board of 9 of Spades 5 of Hearts 4 of Spades 8 of Hearts 3 of Clubs ran in the favour of Derrick, and he is now back in the running!

    5th Place: Lily Kiletto

Shortly after Alexandre’s elimination, we saw Lily move all her chips in the middle from the cutoff, and get called by both Syvain and Mukul. Both players checked the flop of Queen of Spades Jack of Hearts 4 of Spades,  and on the turn of 4 of Diamonds, Sylvain led out with 400K, forcing Mukul out of the hand.

Sylvain: Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs

Lily: Ace of Spades 8 of Hearts

Lily was drawing dead before the river Jack of Spades, and was eliminated in 5th, collecting $129,543.

    6th Place: Alexandre Lavigne

Alexandre Lavigne was starting to become quite short stacked on this final table, and moved all-in for 1.1M holding King of Hearts 8 of Clubs. He was called by Serge Cantin, who had 10 of Hearts Td.
The board was of no help for Alexandre, showing Jack of Clubs 9 of Spades 5 of Diamonds 5 of Clubs 3 of Hearts, and Alexandre was our first elimination here at the final table of the PartyPoker WPT Montreal Main Event. He will go home with a cool $104,799 for his final table appearance, and Serge is now sitting on more than 10 million chips.

  • Serge Cantin has been quite active on this final table, and has chipped up to almost 10 million chips. He recently took just over 2 million from Sylvain, when he called Sylvain’s bets on all three streets while holding King of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds on a 10 of Hearts 8 of Hearts 10 of Spades 4 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds board. After the final bet-call, Sylvain turned over King of Hearts 5 of Diamonds, saying ‘Nice call’.

Players are now on a ten minute break, and play will resume in level 30 when they return.

The board ran in her favour, showing 4 of Hearts 8 of Spades 6 of Spades 8 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds, and she is still in the running in this WPT Montreal final table.
