  • Canadian pro Mike Watson has been eliminated in 35th place. He was on the button facing a preflop raise of 20K from François Goulet when he declared all-in for 185K. François didn’t seem very comfortable but eventually made the call.

Mike: Ace of Spades King of Spades
François: Ace of Clubs Jack of Clubs

The flop was perfect for François – 8 of Clubs 7 of Clubs 4 of Spades and the turn 10 of Clubs gave François the flush and the win. The river was a meaningless 2 of Clubs.

    Next up – Event 10

The next event in the PokerStars Canada Cup is Event 10 a $1,000 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Freezeout that is set to begin at 1pm. The event is a freezeout with a single Day 1. There has been some bridge work on the main link between Kahnawake and central Montreal which has caused some traffic tie-ups, so the TD has delayed the beginning of the tournament for a half hour.

Players are starting to come together in the tournament hall and we’ll start our coverage as soon as the event is underway.
