  • Event 7 – $185 + $15 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Bounty – is well underway, and is filling up fast! 235 players have already taken their seats, and more keep registering! Late registration will remain open for another hour, so it’s not too late to jump in and take advantage of what will definitely be an interesting prizepool.

    It’s a bounty tournament!

In just under an hour, players will take their seats for the $185 + $15 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Bounty Event – Event 7 in the PokerStars Canada Cup!

Traditionally this is an event that closes out Tournament Series’ here at Playground Poker Club, but it’s such a popular event we decided to hold it on a Saturday night instead so that we can meet player demand. The event has a cap of 250 players and the event should grow to at least that number of players.

In a Bounty tournament, part of the entry fee goes to the prize pool ($185 in this case) and part of it is represented by $100 Bounty chips that each player keeps along with their stack. If you bust another player from the tournament, you get their $100 Bounty chip (but they keep the ones they’ve earned by eliminating other players). This wrinkle doesn’t seem like that big a deal in theory, but in practice, it leads to some, ahem, interesting hands when players’ decisions are overly influenced by the $100 a player can earn.

Good luck to all of the players!
