When facing a raise to 7,500 from the under-the-gun position, Michael Lawson, whose stack had dwindled down a little bit, threw in his Bounty. In a Bounty tournament, this means an all-in bet. Franco Sicondolfi went all-in himself, and the initial raiser folded rather quickly.

Michael Lawson: Ace of Diamonds King of Clubs
Franco Sicondolfi: King of Diamonds King of Hearts

Board: 3 of Spades 3 of Clubs 4 of Hearts 7 of Spades Queen of Spades

Sicondolfi had about 15,000 more than Lawson, and cheered as he took his first Bounty of the night.

When we got to the table, the turn was out and Elie Akl had fired 12K into a pot of almost 20K. Karyn Gemmill raised him to 24K, and Akl, after consideration, went all-in for 53K. Gemmill reluctantly called, after counting her pot odds.

Karen Gemmill: Queen of Clubs Jack of Diamonds

Board: 5 of Spades 7 of Hearts 2 of Spades Queen of Hearts 8 of Diamonds

The turn hit them both, but Akl’s kicker allowed him to boost his stack nicely.

Spencer Jean-Baptiste was behind when the cards were tabled. Pre-flop, 3 stacks were fully invested.

Spencer Jean-Baptiste: Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades
Pascal Monarque: 5 of Spades 5 of Hearts

Board: 2 of Hearts Ace of Spades 4 of Clubs 2 of Clubs Jack of Hearts

With that ace, Jean-Baptiste crippled Esber and took out Monarque, gobbling his Bounty chip. His stack is now evaluated at 40K.

Yannick Kwan, after hitting a set in the last hand before the break in a 4-way pre-flop all-in hand, passed Xavier Chayer-St-Germain who had been in the lead for a while.

Here’s the hand:

Éric Leblond: King of Clubs King of Diamonds
Yannick Kwan: 10 of Clubs 10 of Spades
Antoine Simon: 6 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs
Samuel Miranda: 4 of Spades 3 of Spades

Board: 10 of Hearts Ace of Spades 5 of Spades 8 of Hearts 7 of Clubs

Miranda was the first to commit the chips, trying to pick up was had been bet, but Leblond first made the call, then Kwan, then Simon. Miranda was eliminated, while Simon was left with a little under 15K and Leblond was crippled.

Kwan built up to 82,000 chips, good for the lead. He is followed by Xavier Chayer-St-Germain’s 65,500 and Keith Samson’s 59,500.
