Rami Hammoud runs it up

When we got to the table, the turn was out, and Jimmy Ouellet had check-raised from 6.5K to 16.5K. Rami Hammoud announced all-in rather quickly, and Ouellet called.

Hammoud: King of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds
Ouellet: Ace of Spades Queen of Diamonds

Board: 10 of Spades Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs 2 of Diamonds 9 of Clubs

What a flop! Both players were hit hard, but ouellet was trailing with only 4 outs to sway the result, which did not come. Hammoud came into Day 1C rather late, but is now in a good spot to play for a long time.

Chance, sometimes, masquerades as organisation. One table 65, you can find a handful of very solid players.

Linda Huard is a local player that has had some very good results in past Playground Poker Events. Jonathan Poissant is well know on the cash side for his clockwork demeanor and puffy stacks,  but he also has some deep tournament runs under his belt. David Brillon and Shijaudin Daud Sha are two lions who become extremely dangerous when given some chips.

Last but not least, in seat 1, sits Eric Afriat, winner of the $ 3,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in April of 2014. Last month, he also took down the $ 3,300 + 200 No Limit Hold’em WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship in Atlantic City. He ranks 34th on the Canadian all-time money list.

Good luck to our shark table, and may you be broken soon!

Very early in Day 1C, the Playground 200 guarantee was met. The total prize pool will therefore be bloated well above the announced 100K, and we are looking forward to announce the final number. There is another hour and a half to the late registration period, during which players can also re-enter, should they find themselves on the wrong side of their luck.

So far, the top 4 stacks to have qualified for Day 2 come from Thursday night’s Day 1A, led by Elvira Popescu (345,000). Will we see a change in leadership on the Day 2 qualifiers’ list?

Today is your last chance to take a shot at the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. We have a seat for you!
