  • 15 players started Day 2 today and after the first level and a half, 2 players have been eliminated, leaving just 13 players still in the action. Event 10 attracted 92 total players and 10 will be paid, so the money bubble is approaching. As this is an 8-handed tournament, the final table bubble may also be significant, which will happen when the 10th player has been eliminated (the final table starts at 9 players).

WPT Montreal Day 4 Seating Draw & Counts

There are 18 players left in the 2013 WPT Montreal. Play stopped on Day 3 when the player in 19th place was eliminated and the remaining players will return tomorrow at 12pm to play from 18th to 6th place. There will be a full seating redraw at 10 players remaining tomorrow, and the players who qualify for the 6-handed final table will continue in those seats on Day 5.

Just prior to the event we got this shot of last spring’s High Roller champion Setrak challenging the 2012 WPT Montreal champion Jonathan Roy. So far they’re playing on separate tables, but…

    Next up: the High Roller

In just minutes the Playground Poker Fall Classic’s $10,000 + $400 High Roller Event is set to start. The tournament clock has 14 players registered so far, but quite a few more are expected, and with late registration open for 6 levels today registration could easily climb over 40 or higher.

    Tough beat for Victor

  • Victor Ramdin was extremely short of chips, but still… the poker gods didn’t have to eliminate him from the tournament in such a brutal fashion.

Victor open shoved his under-50K stack from middle position and Guillaume Darcourt called from the button. Sam Tsehai folded from the small blind while Patrick Eskandar called as well from the big blind.

The flop was 2 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 9 of Spades and Guillaume and Patrick both checked. The turn was the 7 of Hearts. Patrick bet 50K and Guillaume quickly called. The river was the 9 of Hearts and Patrick checked. Guillaume thought for a minute and bet 75K. Patrick called immediately and flipped over 7 of Spades 6 of Spades for a rivered full house. Guillaume mucked and Victor was disgusted as he flipped over his pocket 2 of Clubs 2 of Hearts for a flopped (but smaller) boat.
