  • Govert responded to a middle position raise by Martin by shoving his 113K stack and Martin tanked for a little while but eventually folded.

Then Matt open shoved 70K on the button. Pratyush folded in the small blind but Tim threw in a chip to call.

Matt: 4 of Hearts 4 of Clubs

Tim: Queen of Spades 9 of Diamonds

The board ran out 7 of Spades 3 of Spades Ace of Spades 2 of Clubs 6 of Hearts and Matt’s small pair held up.

  • In a stunning hand, Martin Jacobson has eliminated Connor Drinan in 7th place.

Connor raised UTG to 17K, and Martin 3-bet to 40K. Connor thought about it and 4-bet to 77K – to which Martin responded with a snap 5-bet shove. Connor quickly called and was at risk for his tournament life.

Connor: King of Spades King of Diamonds

Martin: Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds

The flop was relatively uneventful – 5 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds but running Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts on the turn and river sealed the deal for Martin and when they counted down Connor’s stack he was covered and exits in 7th place.

  • Mark Radoja found a couple of hands to play, but unfortunately the second of those was the hand that eliminated him from the tournament.

In the first hand, Mark and Martin got it in – Mark was driving the action and got in his last 63K with Ace of Spades Jack of Clubs and Martin called with 4 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs. The board ran out 3 of Hearts Ace of Spades Jack of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds and Mark doubled to around 130K.

Just two hands later Mark got it in against Greg Marcus but in this case it was no flip, Mark was well behind holding Ace of Spades Jack of Clubs to Greg’s Ace of Diamonds King of Hearts.

The board gave no help to Mark: 7 of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds 10 of Clubs 9 of Spades King of Clubs and he is eliminated in 8th place.

  • Michael Watson has been eliminated in 9th place in the High Roller event.

Martin raised pre-flop to 17K and Mike re-raised all-in with his shorter (about 120K) stack. Martin snap called and the cards were flipped.

Martin: Queen of Diamonds Queen of Hearts
Mike: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs

The board ran out with rags and Mike was unable to spike an A to stay alive in the tournament. Play continues with 8 players, 2 away from the money bubble.

    9th place: Michael Watson

    Reilly doubles

  • Tim Reilly has managed to double in a hand against Martin Jacobson.

From the button, Tim raised to 16K and Martin re-raised all-in. Martin covered Tim at the time. Tim quickly called and the hands were turned over.

Tim: Queen of Hearts Queen of Clubs
Martin: Ace of Hearts 8 of Diamonds

The flop was great for Tim: Jack of Diamonds 3 of Spades Queen of Diamonds but the turn brought a little bit of a sweat: King of Diamonds. Martin now had flush and gunshot draws but the Ace of Spades on the river proved to be safe for Tim who counted down 197K to be added from Martin’s stack (plus the antes and BB). Martin is down to 247K.

  • The first substantial action of the day has just taken place and resulted in Timothy Reilly taking a nice 136K pot.

Preflop, Connor Drinan raised to 13K from middle position and Tim called from the hijack. The flop came 8 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 3 of Hearts. Action was checked to Tim, who bet 14K. Connor called. The turn was the Ace of Diamonds and both players checked. The river came 8 of Hearts and Connor checked. Tim bet 32K and after a short period of thought, Connor called. Tim showed King of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds for the nut flush and Connor opted to muck.

  • The High Roller has been going for half of a level already and so far most of the hands have been “raise and take it” affairs with a couple of “raise-three bet-take it” hands and just two flops in the first 15 or so hands. C-bets won both of those.
