The Fall Classic High Roller Day 1 has come to an end, and 30 players will be back here tomorrow for Day 2.

The top 3 stacks at the end of the day were:

2. Shayam Srinivasan – 137,250
3. Govert Jan Antonius – 136,725

Final chip counts and seating arrangements will be made available shortly. And for those who were following our story with John Gordon, he has made it through Day 1 with 22,300!

The Fall Classic Event 11 – High Roller $10,000 + $400 has just begun it’s last level of play for the day, and 33 players remain out of the 56 who entered. The tournament resumes at 3pm tomorrow with Day 2, and is schedule to play out for 10 levels, unless otherwise specified by the tournament director.

The Playground Poker Fall Classic High Roller is now on break, and registration will be closing within the next 10 minutes. So unless someone jumps in in the mean time, we are looking at a field of 56 players!

The 3 biggest stacks entering level 7 are:

1. Shayam Srinivasan – 113K
2. Govert Jan Antonius – 89K
3. Mark Radoja – 85K

We had an interesting situation happen in the Fall Classic High Roller event. During level 3 of the tournament, where the blinds were 75/150/a25, Connor Joseph Drinan opened preflop to 500 from early position. It folded around to the button player, who accidentally exposed a when mucking his hand. When the action came around to John Gordon, sitting in the big blind, he had the impression that he received a walk, and showed the while jokingly saying “I’m all-in”. The dealer informed him that there was still a player in the hand, Connor, which came as a complete surprise to John. The floor was called over to make the ruling on this hand, and although the rule is very clear about this kind of occurence, regardless of the situation or magnitude of the buy-in, the tournament director was consulted to confirm the ruling. In the mean time, given that a 6 was already exposed, Connor mentioned that if John is binded to commit his stack in the middle, he will likely make the call.

The final ruling forced John to go all in, and his was called by the A9o of Connor. The board didn’t pair either player, and Connor doubled his stack of 31K, leaving John with 1,600 chips behind. John was visibly frustrated with the situation, and understandably so, but the floor had to stick with the rules in this situation.

John has managed to bounce back since, and is now sitting on a healthy 34K stack in level 7!

The High Roller is now in it’s 6th 1 hour level, and we are up to 55 players registered! Late registration will remain open until the end of the 15-minute break that separates levels 6 and 7, so players still have just over an hour to enter this $10,000 + $400 No Limit Hold’em tournament. Day 1 will end at the end of level 8.

We are up to 48 entries in today’s Day 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic High-Roller event, and there’s still around 4 hours left to jump in for those interested! We’ve seen a dozen or so players register in the last hour, and more are on their way. Late registration is set to close after level 6.

The High Roller tournament is well underway – the tournament has started level 2 and there are 34 players currently registered.

Just prior to the event we got this shot of last spring’s High Roller champion Setrak challenging the 2012 WPT Montreal champion Jonathan Roy. So far they’re playing on separate tables, but…

In just minutes the Playground Poker Fall Classic’s $10,000 + $400 High Roller Event is set to start. The tournament clock has 14 players registered so far, but quite a few more are expected, and with late registration open for 6 levels today registration could easily climb over 40 or higher.
