Our tournament director Martin Roy has just announced that there will be 3 more hands before the end of Day 1 in this $1000 + $100 3-day event. Action will resume at noon tomorrow, November 28th, and the blinds will be 1.2K/2.4K/a300.

By the time late registration closed, 314 players had joined Event 7, adding up to a $304,580 prize pool which will be distributed according to the following chart.

The 314 total players have been whittled down to 204 remaining and coming up to the second break some players have built up some big stacks while others are disappointed to have left early.

Players have reached the first break of the day after playing 4 levels of 45 minutes each. New entrants have until the end of this break – about 8 more minutes – to join the tournament at which point registration will be closed.
There have already been some notable eliminations, including bracelet winner Jason Duval, George Caragiorgas, and Philippe Plouffe.

It’s a little snowy – actually more slushy than snowy – outside but inside it’s warm and dry and the players are assembling to begin one of the most interesting and arguably one of the toughest challenges in the Playground Poker Fall Classic.
Today is Day 1 of the $1000 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Deepstack tournament. There were no satellites for this event, and there is no re-entry – and at the same time, many (if not most) of the travelling poker pros have already arrived in the Montreal area and are gearing up for the WPT Montreal. That combination always makes this event a very important poker challenge for all who enter. In past events like this one we have seen deep runs from WPT event champions, a WSOP Main Event winner, other WSOP bracelet winners, and online champions. The event has also been a platform for Playground regulars to shine…
