With two levels left tonight some players will start to take their stacks to great heights as the differential between theirs and short stacks plays more and more in the big stack’s favour. One player – Patrick St-Michel – has already amassed over 400K today and there are about 10 players hovering around the 200K mark that we’ll monitor as Day 1c draws to a close.
Approaching the end of level 11
Day 1c is almost at the end of level 11 and there are still 265 players remaining. In ten minutes the blinds will go up to 800/1,600/a200 for the second-last level of the night. The current chip average is 69.1K.
Some Photos of Event 9
While the Main Event of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival winds down its third opening day, there are also 100 players who bought in to Event 9, a No Limit Hold’em Big Ante tournament.
A “Big Ante” tournament is exactly the same as any other poker tournament, except that the antes in each hand are slightly larger than normal – around 20% of the amount of the big blind.
Here are some shots of the event.
