6 more hands

Now that we are approaching the end of level 13 – the final level for the day – the TD has announced that they will play 6 more hands and then players will bag their chips to be stored until Day 2 on Monday.

Some of the “interesting” stacks

As we get deep into Day 1a, several players have built up interesting stacks…

Back from Dinner

The players have returned from their 45 minute dinner break and the action on Day 1a continues in level 9 (blinds 400/800/a100). There are 313 players left in the tournament today and they’re playing another 4 levels after this one ends in 25 minutes.

Remember you can view live chip counts and more online.

By the way, the final count of entries today was 491, so the event is on target for a massive field once the second and third Day 1 are played tomorrow and Sunday.

Level 7 Update

Day 1a has reached level 7 and there are 381 players remaining out of the 491 who started today. Blinds are currently 250/500/a75.

There are some interesting tables in the mix even this early in the event.

  • Table 55 features Antonio Esfandiari, Victor Ramdin, and local pro Vlad Faubert.
  • Table 30 has Players Club members Jean-Philippe Piquette and Christopher McClung with Gus Hansen.
  • Table 53 has David Williams with Players Club member Derek Lerner (and, until just a few minutes ago, Philippe Plouffe as well).

Main Event Day 1a Update

Day 1a has made it to Round 5. 439 out of 487 players remain. The blinds are at 150/300 with an ante of 50.

Average Stack is 33k. Here are some of the bigger stacks at this stage of the game.
