Day 2 complete!

Day 2 of Event 8, our Main Event from the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival, featuring a massive prize pool of over $1.6 million, have come to an end. 85 players have made it on to Day 3, which will be played tomorrow, Tuesday October 1st, at 12:00pm.

Final chip counts as well as seating assignments will be posted later tonight. For now, here are some of the players that have made it to Day 3:

Back from Dinner

The players are back from a 45-minute dinner break and the event continued to move very quickly after the bubble burst. There are just 130 players remaining as the tournament plays through level 20 (blinds 10K/20K/a1K).

During the dinner break we took a tour of the room and found that the chip leader was playing just a notch under 1.4M and there were just 4-5 other players over the 1M chip mark.

Hand for Hand

The bubble in the tournament is approaching, so the Tournament Director has called for all tables to play hand-for-hand.

Level 18 Update

There are 181 players left in the tournament half-way through level 18 and the blinds are currently 3,000/6,000/a1,000. The chip average is 272.3K.

We love big stacks, we cannot lie!

Some huge stacks are being accumulated – check out the Live Updates page for details as the tournament unfolds, but some of the bigger stacks found on a recent tour of the tables:

  • Patrick St-Michel – 975K
  • Peter Balais – 750K
  • Brian Wright – 700K
  • Brian Coen – 700K

Half way through level 17 (blinds 2,500/5,000/a500) there are 226 players left and an average stack size of 215.7K. The bubble begins to beckon… or loom…

Here are some – but definitely not all – of the larger stacks in the room.

Fast & Furious

The poker action to start Day 2 has been extremely quick – just two and a half levels into the day the tournament has dropped from 478 to 260 players.

In level 16 blinds are 2,000/4,000/a500. The chip average is 187.5K.

Some Playground Regulars in the Field

Home field advantage means very little in poker, but there are quite a few players in the action today who are well-known Playground tournament players.

Players Club Members in Day 2

Quite a few Players Club members made it to Day 2 of the Main Event of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival. Here are a few photos from early in Day 2.
