Event 3 has a winner!

After a long afternoon (and early evening) of heated poker battles, we have a winner in Event 3 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival.

The winner is Russel Turner, a regular afternoon tournament player here at Playground Poker Club, and for the win he takes home $1,400 plus the beautiful Champion’s trophy.

To win the event he barely edged out second-place finisher Nicolas Rabba who played solid poker all afternoon and but for a pretty big cooler at the outset of final table action could have been the massive chipleader 9-handed. Nicolas won $1,264 for his runner up finish.

Third place went to Matthew Parker who was the last of 4 players to take $800 after the deal that was struck with 6 players remaining.

Day 1c is underway

Cards are in the air and players are already into the second level of play in Day 1c of Event 1 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival.

The event “sold out” over an hour before the event began and we began accepting alternates – and increasing the capacity as the 7:30 start time approached. These efforts have so far been a big success, as there have already been 558 players seated.

More updates coming soon…

Eliminations 9 to 5

Eliminations, from 9th place to 5th place.

Note there was a deal made between the players with 6 remaining. All players agreed to take $800 each and then continue to play with an additional $464 for 2nd place and an additional $600 plus the trophy for 1st place.

  • 9th place, Donald Cunningham, $185
  • 8th place, Steven St-Jacques, $245
  • 7th place, Sebastien Beauregard, $325
  • 6th place, Lee Daud Sha, $800
  • 5th place, Pascal Domingue, $800

Gearing up for Day 1c

We’re just over an hour away from the beginning of Day 1c in Event 1 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival. The capacity for each Day 1 of this $135 + $15 No Limit Hold’em Re-entry was 400 players and all 400 seats have already been sold – but if you get to the club soon there’s still a very good chance you’ll be able to play in this huge event. In each of the other two Day 1s (Saturday and Sunday) we were able to seat over 100 alternates.

We’ll confirm the numbers when late registration closes, but this is shaping up to be the largest tournament in Playground Poker Club history in terms of the total number of players.
