Cards are in the Air for Day 1a!
Event 8 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival got underway about a half hour ago and there are already 486 players seated with many more still to come.

Quick Day 1a Update
If you’re planning to play in Day 1a of the $1000 + $100 Main Event today and you do NOT yet have your ticket, it would be a good idea to make your way to Playground Poker Club immediately.
The published capacity for Day 1a is 500 players and an hour before the event kicks off there are already 400 tickets sold. Alternates will be accepted, so we’re expecting registration could rise above 600 players today.
Structure change
Please be advised that we have made a small change to the structure of Event 8. Due to the massive turnout that we’re expecting, play will be extended for all Day 1s (Day 1a today, Day 1b Saturday and Day 1 Sunday). The original structure for this event stipulated 11 levels of play per Day 1, now each Day 1 will end after 13 levels of play.

In about 90 minutes Event 8 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival – the $1000 + $100 Main Event – will kick off here at Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake!
Judging by the turnout for the preliminary events, it’s shaping up to be a great tournament. Event 1 attracted 1,605 players total adding up to a prize pool of over $200,000 for a $150 buy-in event. The other preliminaries have had 2x or even 3x the number of entries that similar daily tournaments attract, adding up to amazing prize pools and great competition at the poker tables.
Event 8 is due to be a blockbuster as well. Over 600 players have won their entries in satellites both live and online. Just yesterday another 39 players won their way into the event (33 in the satellite last night and 6 during the afternoon)!
