Two big stacks got involved in a huge hand. We didn’t get to see the entire action but there was already over 2M in the pot when the turn came out. On the turn, Gurpreet Lubana made a 2M bet, which Tyler Clayton Patterson called. On the river Lubana pushed his entire stack in and Patterson made the call. They both showed full houses – Patterson hit his on the turn and Lubana hit the lower one on the river. He was left with just a few chips, which he lost two hands later.

Patterson: Jack of Hearts Jack of Spades

Lubana: 3 of Clubs 3 of Spades

Board: Ace of Spades 9 of Hearts Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds

The field has shrunk quickly on Day 1A of the Turbo, with only 90 of the 387 entries still in contention. The play has tightened up recently, as the big stacks have gobbled up the short stacks, allowing for much deeper play in the late levels.

Here are the current chip leaders:

We got to the table after the flop and turn were exposed but that’s when all the action happened anyways.

Board: 2 of Hearts King of Diamonds Jack of Hearts 6 of Clubs

Jared Griener bets 400K, but Henning Wendlandt raises to 1.6M. Griener decides to get it over with and pushes all-in. Wendlandt makes the call and shows top two King of Hearts Jack of Spades. Bad timing for Griener, who also had two pair but not big enough to keep him in the game.

    River: 9 of Spades

Griener: Jack of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds

    Henning Wendlandt

    Three way all in

    • Level: 13
    • Small Blind: 35K
    • Big Blind: 70K
    • Button Ante: 70K
    • Chip Average: 3.7M

Players are falling like flies at that table – first it was Michaelis, and now it’s Mike Sexton. In this three way all in before the flop, Mike Sexton showed Ace of Spades 9 of Spades, Trent Hopper Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds and Alexander Bylicki showed Jack of Hearts Jack of Diamonds. Bylicki flopped a set and took all of Sexton’s stack and a big chunk of Hopper’s.

Board: Jack of Spades 10 of Clubs 3 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds 8 of Spades

    Alexander Bylicki

    Dry board for Michaelis

    • Level: 13
    • Small Blind: 35K
    • Big Blind: 70K
    • Button Ante: 70K
    • Chip Average: 3.4M
    • Remaining: 114
    • Entries: 387

    2018/04/30 - 18:40 by Playground Poker

Paul Michaelis just got eliminated by Alex Fortin Demers. They were both all in before the flop, Fortin Demers holding King of Hearts King of Clubs and Michaelis showed Queen of Diamonds Queen of Spades. None of them connected the board so Fortin Demers took down the pot with a higher pair. Michaelis’s queens cost him his tournament life.

Board: 7 of Clubs 2 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 8 of Spades

    Alex Fortin-Demers

    Shrinking field, growing stacks

    • Level: 12
    • Small Blind: 30K
    • Big Blind: 60K
    • Button Ante: 60K
    • Chip Average: 3.2M

    • Entries: 387
