The tent is filling up quickly, with over 250 entries including 24 re-entries so far and still more than seven levels left to the late registration period, it’s safe to say that this event will be a success!
Blinds are increasing every 30 minutes, so player are much more aggressive, which explains the number of re-entries in such a short amount of time.
As predicted, the field is growing quickly in the Turbo. We have already seen a handful of re-entries, and the buy-ins keep rolling in, bringing the field up to 200 players only one hour into the first flight.
The action has been fast and loose so far with ten players eliminated already, showing that the players have the ground running.
There are lots of ways join the field for the Turbo, with sit’n go’s and flip’n go’s available on demand. Flip’n go’s have become an increasingly popular option for players to get in to big tournaments for a fraction of the cost of a direct buy-in. The field for the MILLIONS Turbo is growing quickly. 180 players were already in the running before the end of the first 30-minute level of play. This event features two Day 1s, each allowing one entry and one re-entry until the end of the tenth level of play. As with the other events in the MILLIONS series, this tournament offers $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, but given the huge fields we have seen so far in this series the final numbers will likely surpass that figure.
While the Main Event moves into its final phases, two other tournaments are getting started today – one of these being the MILLIONS Turbo. This is a $1,000 + $100 NL Hold’e tournament with two Day 1s and just 30 minute levels. One of the most interesting trends in tournament poker has been a return to shorter blind levels, and this Turbo event fits right in that trend. There was a satellite for this event yesterday evening which saw 27 seats awarded.
As is the case with all of the side events in the MILLIONS North America, the Turbo features a $1,000,000 prize pool guarantee. This is a 2-day event with two starting days (today and tomorrow, May 1st). Play will continue through 18 levels today.
