The MILLIONS Finale is back from the first break of the night, and play is currently hand-for-hand as only one elimination separates players from being in-the-money. Anatolly Filatov has taken over as the chip leader, however his stack is closely rivalled by Timothy Reilly and Chance Kornuth.

Local hero Samuel Chartier is the player at risk, with under 10BB left to his name, although Louis Boutin and Aaron Mermelstein also have their work cut out for them. Blinds will remain at 70K/140K/a140K until play has reached in-the-money.

Arkadiy Tsinis was down to his last few chips and rolled the dice at the wrong time. He ended up facing Timothy Reilly who was holding a pretty good hand:

Reilly: Ace of Hearts Ace of Clubs
Tsinis: King of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Board: 9 of Clubs Jack of Clubs 3 of Clubs Queen of Hearts 3 of Diamonds

Tsinis’ elimination allowed the Finale to merge on its last 2 tables. Here is the seating chart:

Chance Kornuth opened to 275K, and Manig Loeser made it 910K to go. When the action came back on Kornuth, he simply went all-in, comfortably covering his opponent. Loeser called right away, and Kornuth, although he probably knew he was in a bad spot when the call was made, had the confirmation:

Kornuth: Ace of Hearts 5 of Hearts
Loeser: King of Diamonds King of Clubs

Board: 3 of Clubs 5 of Clubs 2 of Hearts 9 of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Manig Loeser stacks up about 11M in chips.

Jonathan Vanfleet had just showed up after missing the first few hands, and opened to 375K. Chance Kornuth looked at him, seemingly thinking: ”Relax, friend!”. He 3bet to 1.4M, and Matas Cimbolas invested his stack, all-in for slightly less.

Vanfleet threw his cards away, and cards were tabled:

Cimbolas: Ace of Spades King of Hearts
Kornuth: King of Diamonds King of Spades

Board: 6 of Hearts 6 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 7 of Clubs

The Finale now plays 17-way, one elimination from the final 2 tables and two from the prizes.

Day 3 of the Finale rounds 18 players. The field is an unbelievable body of top pros, and promises to provide great entertainment. Chance Kornuth, Philippe D’Auteuil, Jonathan Duhamel, Manig Loeser and Samuel Chartier will battle it out for the $325,000 first prize.

And now for Day 3 of the Finale

    2018/05/02 - 12:13 by

Today is the final day of tournaments here at Playground Poker Club for the MILLIONS North America, and there are three events on tap for today – the final table of the Main Event starts at 12:00pm with coverage coming along with the stream at 12:30; Day 2 of the Turbo with several tables remaining, also at 12:00pm; and at 1:00pm, the end of this event – the Finale!

There are just 18 players left on 3 tables, but as an 8-handed tournament, it will take just two eliminations before a redraw occurs to randomly re-seat the players. The field in this event is amazingly strong and deep, so it’s hard to handicap a winner – but chips are powerful, so until we learn more, Chance Kornuth (14,960,000), Jonathan Vanfleet (14,470,000), and Timothy Reilly (13,345,000) have to be considered to have the inside edge.

    Good luck to everyone today!
