  • Sylvain Siebert was attempting to make his third consecutive final table in an Main Event here at Playground Poker Club, but fell short when he lost a flip to Vincent Jacques for his tournament life.

After losing several pots since the last break, Sylvain was left with 124K when he open jammed from late position. Kevin MacDonald made the call, but folded once Vincent went all-in over the top from the big blind.

Sylvain: Jack of Diamonds 10 of Hearts

Vincent: 9 of Spades 9 of Hearts

The board ran 4 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds 4 of Spades Ace of Hearts 9 of Diamonds, and Sylvain fell short of completing his final table trifecta, although he still did finish a very respectable 29th place.

Event 8 Champion: Shauna Marie Webber

Given the ‘All-in or Nothing’ formula of Event 8, where players only have the option of folding their cards or moving all-in, it only took 3 hours to crown a champion. At the end of it all, it was Shauna Marie Webber who triumphed over heads-up opponent Christian Brousseau to take home the first prize of $2,129. Shauna also earned a PokerStars Canada Cup trophy for her win in this event, which attracted a total of 67 players.

    Congratulations Shauna!
