Two 1-hour levels have passed us in Day 2 of the Main Event, and chips have been flying here as we’ve lost over 60 players so far. Here is the current leaderboard going into level 13:

The PokerStars Canada Cup Main Event continues today with Day 2 starting in a few short minutes. Of the 578 total entries, 240 have qualified through to Day 2, and all of them have their eye on that $366,660 top prize, which is accompanied by the beautiful PokerStar Canada Cup Champion’s Trophy!
The field is led by Jeremy Thompson (260K), and the leaderboard is riddled with poker legends and online sharks. Amongst the chip leaders you’ll find WSOP Bracelet winner (and WSOP-C ring winner, and SCOOP runner-up) Charles-Alexandre Sylvestre (222.2K), 2-time WPT Montreal final tableist Sylvain Siebert (174.8K), EPT High Roller Champion and PokerStars pro Marc-André Ladouceur (174.4K), #1 all-time money list Antonio Esfandiari (163.4K), EPT High Roller Champion and online phenomenon Steven Silverman (163.2K), WSOP Main Event Champion Jonathan Duhamel (157.9K). And these are just the big stacked players!

Needless to say that this is a very tough field! The schedule of the day is to play down to the money, which is at 72 players, unless 10 levels of 1-hour go by without reaching that point. There will be a 45-minute dinner break after 6 levels.

Our TD Martin Roy has just announced that Day 1c will be over once all the tables have played 5 more hands. We’ve noticed a few players with stacks above the 200K mark, as we were expecting. Final chips counts of the day will be made available shortly, as will the seating assignments for Day 2.
With 282 total entries, Event 7 has a total prize pool of $50,605! The following table reflects the payout structure for this event:

Day 1c of the Main Event has just entered level 10, which is the last level of play for today. The players that remain at the end of this will bag their chips onto Day 2, which will begin tomorrow, Sunday May 25th, at 11am.
We are back from the last break of the day, and Day 1c will be finished upon the completion of 2 more 1-hour levels. We’ve seen a lot of movement in chips in these last 2 levels, and and few players have sprung up way above the average. Given the amount of entries in this flight versus the two previous ones, we are expecting to see a lot more players finish the day with stacks upwards of 200K, although no one has reached that plateau yet. Here is an approximation of the top ten stacks we’ve come across:
