This second flight of Event 1 is entering it’s final stages, and there is just under one hour left before the end of Day 1b. For the moment, 155 players remain in action, however we can expect to see a lot of chips flying in the next two levels, and this number will surely drop a considerable amount.
The two final flights of Event 1 will be payed out tomorrow, with Day 1c starting at 11:00am and Day 1b at 7:30pm.
The second break is now finished, which means the players are on their last 5-level stretch before the end of Day 1b. Only a few players have already managed to breach the 100K mark, but one in particular has leaped ahead of the average.

We have just begun level 8 here in the opening Event of the Pokerstars Canada Cup, and the field has dropped down to 260 players out of the 406 that began the day. There are 6 levels remaining in Day 1b, after which the surviving players will bag and tag their chips for Day 2, held Sunday at 12pm.

Level 5 has just begun here in Day 1b of Event 1, which means that late registration is now closed for the night. We saw 406 players participate in tonights flight, bringing the grand total up to 643 entries after the two first flights. With two more flights happening tomorrow, we can expect the $100K guarantee to be far exceeded!
There are still 9 levels of play before the end of Day 1b.
Registration has now climbed up to 386 players in Day 1b of this opening event to the Pokerstars Canada Cup, and it with just under an hour left to go before late registration closes, we should see that number climb to over 400!

Day 1b is minutes away from beginning, and it is looking to be a huge turnout! We saw 237 players take their seats this afternoon for Day 1a, and this number has already been exceeded with the tournament just about to start. Players will be allowed to register to the tournament until the start of level 5, or roughly 9:45pm. There is a cap of 400 players + alternates, and it is looking to be a full house tonight!
If you are unfortunate enough to get eliminated today, or simply couldn’t make it to the club, keep in mind that there are two more flights for Event 1 happening tomorrow, Saturday May 17th. Day 1c is scheduled at 11:00am tomorrow, and Day 1d at 7:30pm.

Day 1a of Event 1 of the PokerStars Canada Cup started at 11am on May 16 and played through 13 half-hour levels before the remaining players bagged their chips to take to Day 2, on Sunday.

The 70 players remaining in Day 1a have begun their final 30-minute level of the day, at which time the remaining players will count and bag up their chips, ready to come back and play on Day 2, Sunday. Of course a player who bags a short stack may try to do better in an additional Day 1 – probably not tonight (due to fatigue) but tommorrow’s Day 1c or 1d would be possible.
