Event 7 Update

Event 7 attracted a total of 238 players and 120 remain. Play is in level 12 and the blinds are 1.2K/2.4K/a200. We’ll publish the prize pool information in a few minutes.

Another break

Players are on break in Event 1 with 12 players remaining of the 1,605 who started the tournament back on Saturday afternoon.

Out since the redraw were Marc-Antoine Cloutier (18th, $1,785), Alain Blais (17th, $1,785), Ahman Baalbaki (16th, $1,785), Nick Petsas (15th, $2,245), Steve Gadoury (14th, $2,245), and Arturas Lescinskas (13th, $2,245).

We took a Vine of the hand that eliminated Arturas. He got it in with pocket 3s and was called by a player with two 4s:

When players return blinds will be 75K/150K/a25K. The final table will start at 10 players.

Day 3 in Pictures

Event 1, Day 3 is well underway and players are getting close to the full seat redraw that will take place when they get to 18 players.

Here are a few photos of the early action.

The Winner of Event 6…

…is Lambros Xerakias, fondly known to almost everyone at the Club as “Spikey”.

When the final table came together Lambros was among the leaders – but then he eliminated 3 or 4 players in a row (and in a short period of time) to become the massive chip leader.

Following this, however, he was unfortunate to double up two opponents even though he was clearly ahead both times. Then the tourney settled in for a long session 4-handed. Eventually Dominic Dufour was eliminated, and the players continued for another two or three levels 3-handed.

Fabio Ribeiro was the next to go, but only after the players came to a very small deal for the prize money. The players agreed to take $100 from the 1st-place prize and $50 from the 2nd-place prize and add it to the prize money for 3rd – bringing the prize for 3rd up to $1,225 – which is what Fabio took home for his work today.

Heads up play didn’t last very long, and eventually Lambros triumphed over the strong play of Eric Gravel (2nd, $1,360) to take the trophy and the 1st place prize ($1,779).

Down to 26

Event1 has quickly dropped to 26 players who are playing level 28 (blinds 30K/60K/a10K) on three tables.

Level 1 Coming to a Close

Players are almost through level 1 of tonight’s Deepstack Turbo (Event 7) and there are already 130 players at the tables and over $3K up top. There’s still time to late register – over an hour left, in fact, so there’s still time to jump in the action.

Cards are in the air!

The 3rd and final day of Event 1 of the Full Tilt Montreal Festival is underway! Just 31 players remain on 4 tables. One table will break as soon as 4 more players are eliminated, and there will be full redraw at 18 players remaining.
