Photo break!

The players in Event 1 are on a break while tournament staff races off the black (100) chips. At the break there were 249 players left, so they’re not at the bubble yet but it’s on the horizon.

Here are some photos from Event 1 Day 2:

Up to 77 Players

Event 5 is only just into level 3 but players have been joining quickly – at least some of them are players who busted early in Event 1 Day 2 – and the field has grown to 77 players. There have been plenty of rebuys as well, so they’re on their way to building a very nice prize pool.

Moving along quickly

They have only played two full levels today in Event 1, but of the 368 players who started today, almost 100 have already busted. The tournament now is in the middle of level 16 and blinds are 2,000/4,000/a500 and 276 players remain. The average chip stack is just over 116K.

Event 4 has a champion!

After a short heads-up session, massive chip leader (following the deal) Adam El Bied outlasted Jay Doerr to take down the first prize of $1,380 and the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival Trophy.

Congratulations Adam!

Event 5 Starts Now!

The first non-Hold’em tournament of the festival has gotten underway. Event 5 is a $100 + $10 Pot Limit Omaha Single Rebuy tournament. Level 1 has just started and there are 46 players registered so far with more coming until the end of late registration.

Players have reached a deal

The tournament has been paused briefly as the TD worked out the specifics of a deal the players have reached. The remaining 4 players have agreed to reserve $319 and the trophy for first place and split the remaining prize pool evenly between them.

The payouts after the deal are as follows: 1st place – $1,380, 2nd place to 4th place – $1,061.

10 Minutes to Go

Day 2 of Event 1 of the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival is about to get underway. Players are arriving in the tournament hall and unbagging their chips – which for some players, a longer process than for others!

Good luck to the 368 players left in the tournament!
