And… that’s a wrap

Players are now bagging their chips at the end of Day 1a. The board says that 116 players are still alive – that number is very accurate but when we post final chip counts it will be confirmed.

All of these players move on to Day 2 on Tuesday evening at 7:30 – unless, that is, they’d prefer to take another run at a Day 1 and try and build up a better stack! In the case of a player who qualifies through two (or three) Day 1s, their largest stack will move on to Day 2 and their other chips will be removed from the tournament.

Congratulations to everyone who has made it through so far!

Last level of the day

Event 1 was originally scheduled to play 12 30-minute levels per Day 1, but with the massive turnout today our Tournament Director, Martin Roy, and his team decided that it would be wise to play an additional level on each Day 1. So the 144 players who remain are now about 10 minutes into level 13 (blinds 1K/2K/a300).

Final chip counts for Day 1a will be posted here later this evening. Day 1b gets underway tomorrow (Sunday) at 12:00pm. Event 1 is a next-day re-entry event, so if you played today and busted, you may re-enter tomorrow or Monday evening (Day 1c).

At the second break

The tournament has arrived at its second break (after 8 levels) and there are still 292 players left out of the 527 who started today. There are 4 more levels left to go today, and after the break we’re going to get some photos of the larger stacks and notable players still left in the field.

When the players return they’ll be starting level 9 and blinds will be 400/800/a100.

Some photos…

After the first break…

The first break has come and gone and though there are still a few alternates still being seated (they paid before late registration ended) bringing the final total for Day 1a up to 527 players!

The field will play 12 levels of 30 minutes each today, so there’s still a long way to go for the 447 players that remain.

Some friendly advice for players who want to play in Day 1b tomorrow or Day 1c on Monday evening – it would be a great idea to find your way to Playground Poker Club today to buy your ticket and not get stuck waiting to be called as an alternate.

Day 1a is HUGE

Day 1a of Event 1 is coming up on the end of level 4 and the attendance numbers so far are beyond even our expectations. The published capacity for this event was 400 per Day 1, but 491 have already been seated and more alternates are still jumping in.

Photos are coming soon…

The Festival is ready to begin!

September 21st has arrived and the Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival is set to begin with Day 1a of Event 1, a $135 + $15 No Limit Hold’em Re-entry event featuring 3 Day 1s and a $100,000 Guaranteed prize pool!

Today’s tournament will be starting in under 5 minutes and there are already 369 players registered, so it’s looking like we’ll have a full house. Capacity for each Day 1 in this event is 400 players, but we’re accepting alternates so the numbers will certainly grow higher than that!

Good luck to all players in this and all of the rest of the events of the festival!
