Even though we are still in the first level of play, there is already some great action at the tables. Ghislain Pigeon has already doubled his stack in a hand against Joshua Resvick. All the action happened pre-flop. Resvick made an initial raise of 30K, but Pigeon bumped it up to 85K. Resvick pushed foward 275K and Pigeon decided to go all-in. Resvick made the call but unfortunately he ran into Pigeon’s King of Spades King of Clubs with his Queen of Diamonds Queen of Clubs.

The board didn’t help him much and Pigeon had his stack covered.

As predicted, there has been a significant uptick in the number of players to start the day. Where there were 60-70 players at the tables to start Days 1A and 1B, there are already 161 seated – and many more at the cage getting their registration completed.

The Tournament Director, Martin Roy, has now made his opening announcements and issued the traditional tournament command to the dealers to “Shuffle up and Deal!”

Now it’s on to Day 1C

    2018/04/26 - 11:39 by

Today at 12:00pm, the third of 5 starting flights in the MILLIONS North America Main Event. Today is when the numbers of participants should start to ramp up several notches as satellite qualifiers start to join the field in quantity. After today, there’s one “normal” Day 1 (Friday 12:00pm) plus a Turbo Day 1 with 40 minute blinds on Friday evening beginning at 8:00pm. Players may also choose to join the field on either of the Day 2s until the beginning of level 13 – so while there’s still plenty of opportunity to join the event – only today and tomorrow are “regular” starting days.

Players looking to maximize their EV in the tournament are also playing multiple Day 1s and bagging multiple stacks to take to Day 2. With two Day 2s on the agenda, a player can use these additional stacks to enter or re-enter both of them – and then on Day 3, a player’s best stack will move forward. There’s no better way to give yourself the best chance to go deep than to take all the opportunities possible to build a huge stack!

Action gets underway in the Tournament Hall at 12:00pm and players will each start with a 1,000,000 chip stack. Starting blinds will be 5,000/10,000 with a 5,000 button ante. Play today will continue through 8 60-minute levels with 15-minute breaks following every 2nd level.

    Good luck on the felts!
