    Onto Day 2!

    2018/04/28 - 2:05 by Jôle Simard

Day 1E, the last of our MILLIONS Main Event starting flights, has concluded. Day 1E unfolded in the tent and shared the space with a Step 2 satellite that awarded 15 Main Event seats. Most of these players will jump in Day 2A tomorrow at noon, where registration will be accepted until the end of level 12. There will be another Step 2 satellite tomorrow night, feeding Sunday’s Day 2B.

Tonight’s Day 1E rounded 92 players, and 10 re-entries were placed, which brings our total entries to 1498. Noeung Troeung started like a hungry lion; he came out so strongly that even though his stack has not moved since the end of level 3, he is still among the leaders. The biggest bag belongs to Asem Alsaadi, who managed to collect a stack of 4,595,000 chips. The biggest stack to be taken to Day 2 belongs to Michael Sklenicka, who destroyed Day 1D this afternoon and is at the very top of our Combined Day 1 Qualifiers list with the only 8-figure stack.

Day 1E of the MILLIONS Main Event is on its last level of the day, and the action, unfolding on six tables, has slowed down considerably. As much as the first few levels were rich in big pots, players seem to have switched to survival mode.

Here are some shots of our late runners in the turbo flight:

Noeung Troeung having slowed down, Asem Alsaadi managed to climb on top of the leaderboard. This being said, it is extremely close up top, with 3 players within 60K of each other!

Chips are flying from a player to another. Farid Jattin just saw his stack double in size in that hand against George Biliouras. No crazy action before the flop, but when the dealer opened Ace of Diamonds 3 of Spades 2 of Spades, Biliouras made an impressive bet of 1,075,000 chips. Jattin called, leaving himself with under 200K behind. When the turn came a King of Spades, Jattin put in what he had left and Biliouras called him.

Biliouras: 2 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds

Jattin : 4 of Clubs 5 of Clubs

    River: 7 of Spades

They both hit hard on the flop, Biliouras hitting a set and Jattin flopping a straight so the hand pretty much played itself.

Jattin doubled up, leaving Biliouras with a much smaller stack.

Mark Solerno got involved in a hand against Michael Rocco, with a decently sized pot. On the river, Rocco tried to steal with a 900K bet. Solerno wasn’t very confident, but still made the call with top pair and a good kicker. When Rocco showed the bluff, Solerno showed his two hole cards with pride!

Salerno: King of Hearts Queen of Diamonds
Rocco: Ace of Spades Queen of Spades

Board: 5 of Spades King of Clubs 7 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds 5 of Hearts

As the levels are passing, the blinds are increasing, and players start to feel pressured. The first leaderboard shows some very big stacks for such a short time of play.

Michael Doucette was feeling his stack getting smaller and smaller and felt the need to do something about it. He then decided to push all-in before the flop with Ace of Spades 8 of Hearts. That didn’t work out very well for him since Nicholas Palma called him with 7 of Diamonds 7 of Spades and the board came in Palma’s favor.

Board: 10 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 4 of Spades 3 of Hearts 3 of Spades

Unfortunately for Doucette, Palma had him covered.
