As play continues in level 14, the blinds have crept up and the pressure is starting to force the action.

Kurt Jewell’s opening raise from under the gun to 180K drew two callers before the action got to Yu Gao. Gao decided he found the right spot to either steal some chips or double up so he moved all-in for 1.45M. The action quickly folded back around to Jewell, who found the fold button after some deliberation. The next player to act, Bart Guido Lybaert, caught everyone off guard by successfully raising all-in to isolate, and the cards were tabled. Gao held Ace of Spades 9 of Spades, but he was behind Lybaert’s 10 of Spades 10 of Clubs. The board, 4 of Clubs 7 of Hearts 6 of Spades 8 of Diamonds 4 of Spades, ran out safely for the pocket pair, sending Gao to the rail.

Jérémy Ménard pushed a 650K bet on the turn, in a pot of well over a million. David Eldridge was probably sensing that Ménard wasn’t too happy about the board:

Ace of Hearts 6 of Diamonds 7 of Spades 8 of Diamonds.

Eldridge, our High Roller champion, took the initiative. He raised to 1.4M, which got Ménard to think. He ended up making the call, and looked straight at Eldridge as the river was being revealed. He held his stare for some time before looking at the river himself, being first to act.

4 of Spades. Both players checked the last street. Eldridge may have been confident about his read, but uncertain whether his opponent would lay it down or not. Good players know when to change their plans!

Ménard tabled the King of Diamonds King of Spades and scooped.

This pot was built to a nice 1.5M before the first community cards came out. On the Queen of Hearts 3 of Diamonds 6 of Spades flop, David Tan Aka Nguyen check raised Alexander Villa all-in, bringing it up from 600K to 1,670,000. Alex asked for a count, and finally made the call.

Nguyen: Ace of Hearts King of Spades
Villa: 8 of Clubs 8 of Spades

The run out was good to the underdog: 2 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs

A 5M pot was pushed to Nguyen, thanks to the river slam.

With the 2nd break of the day came the opportunity to scout for all stacks above 10 million chips. We found thirteen of them, led by Michael Gathy who took down a 10-million-chip pot not long ago with a set-over-set.

137 money entries were placed in today’s Day 2, which brings the tally to 1635 entries.

    Here is our current leaderboard:

The players are about to go on their second break of the day, as the clock winds down on the late registration and re-entry period. There are still 254 players in contention, and the total number of entries has just hit 500. With a few minutes left to get in on the action, that number may still rise. And with nearly 1 billion chips in play, there’s an opportunity for anyone in the field to run up a huge stack for Day 3.

There will be a final 25 seat MEGA SATELLITE tonight at 8pm, and SNGs are running all day on demand. Don’t miss your shot at the $10,000,000 Prize Pool!

In this hand, the heavy action started on the turn.

Board: 6 of Diamonds 4 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds 5 of Clubs

Éric Aucoin led out with 250K, and was raised to 775K by Alberto Sayde. Jeffrey Manza 3bet it to 1,650,000, which got Aucoin to fold. Sayde, however, was going nowhere. He was made, and could still improve, but was in a worse shape than he thought.

He went all-in for just over 3M, and Manza was all too happy about it.

Sayde: King of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds
Manza: 8 of Clubs 7 of Clubs

    Jeffrey Manza
    Alberto Sayde

What a face-off! The river came… Ace of Spades! Clean, at least from Manza’s perspective.

Meanwhile, more brutality was witnessed at the other side of the hall. Michael Philippe Gathy and David Shao had a major altercation and escalated the bets until both were all-in for 5M effective.

Gathy: Queen of Diamonds Queen of Hearts
Mccormack: 3 of Spades 3 of Diamonds

Board: Jack of Spades 3 of Clubs Queen of Clubs Ace of Hearts 8 of Spades

A 10,000,000 pot was pushed to Gathy.
