When action folded around to Dean Murphy in the cutoff, he raised the blinds up to 225,000. Dylan Wilkerson placed a 3-bet to 575,000 from the big blind, and the two tangoed to the flop.

Once the dealer rung out a Ace of Hearts 6 of Clubs King of Clubs flop, Dylan paused for a moment before checking over to his opponent. Dean, who was sitting on roughly 10 million in chips, glanced over at Dylan’s 1.8 million chip stack and then announced he was all-in. Dylan made the snap call, and hands were tabled.

Dean: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Spades
Dylan: Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs

Dylan had a lock on the hand once the turn brought the 8 of Spades, and the 10 of Diamonds river was dealt as a formality. With that pot, he climbed up to around 4.8 million, a few blinds shy of the average stack.

Adam John Owen just won a very decent pot in a hand that started three way but lost a player on the river. Owen opened at 200K pre-flop, Tracy Nhi Nguyen raised to 600K, Guillaume Nolet called and so did Owen.

Flop: 2 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds

Owen checked, Nguyen made it 320K, Nolet and Owen made the call.

    Turn: Ace of Clubs

They all checked on the turn.

    River: 5 of Hearts

Owen bets 900K, Nguyen folds, and after a few minutes, Nolet makes the call. When Owen showed his cards, Nolet realized he was beat and mucked.

In the late stages of level 14, Ardavan Yazdi opened the action to 160K from under the gun and was called by Lu Zhang, in the cut-off, before Kevin Rivest made a raise from the button to 500K. Both Yazdi and Zhang made the call, building a big pot before the 5 of Clubs 8 of Hearts 8 of Clubs flop hit the table. The action checked to Rivest who continued for 750K. Yazdi got out of the way before Zhang raised all-in for 2.9M. Rivest scanned the tournament board and quickly counted his remaining stack before deciding that he had too much invested in the pot to give up so he made the call with Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds. Zhang quietly opened Ace of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds, for a pair and the lead. The 9 of Clubs on the turn gave Rivest some more outs, and the Jack of Clubs on the river gave him the nuts. And just like that he added a few million more chips to his stack.

Late in level 13, with the blinds at 35K/70K, Marc Macdonnell opened the action to 150K from middle position. His neighbour, Michael Pitcher, raised him to 350K. The action quickly folded back around to Macdonnell who, not to be deterred, re-raised to 950K. The four-bet gave Pitcher a tough decision, one that he took a few minutes to make, before calling. Macdonnell continued with a bet of 630K on the 9 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds flop. The relatively small bet was met with an all-in raise from Pitcher, one that was immediately called by Macdonell. Macdonell showed King of Hearts King of Spades, and Pitcher tabled 10 of Clubs 10 of Hearts. The 4 of Diamonds fell harmlessly on the turn before the 10 of Diamonds spiked the river, sending Macdonnell to the rail and nearly doubling Pitcher’s 3.7M chip stack.
