    Smith sets a trap

With the blinds at 30K/60K, Charles La Boissonniere opened the action to 125K. Ryan Smith made the call along with two others before the action got to Mathieu Boucher in the small blind. Boucher put in a three-bet to 455K, and La Boissoniere found the fold button. Ryan Smith then turned the tables by raising all-in for 2.3M. The raise and re-raise was enough to chase everyone else out of the pot and gave Boucher a difficult decision. Boucher spent a while in the tank before finally making the call with Ace of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds. Smith triumphantly tabled Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades. The flop, 8 of Clubs 10 of Hearts King of Clubs, gave Boucher a ray of hope, and the Queen of Clubs turn helped even more, but the 2 of Diamonds river fell short, letting Smith take down the pot of over 5M in chips.

Charles La Boissonnière just won a big pot by calling a bluff.

Board: 8 of Clubs King of Diamonds 2 of Spades Ace of Hearts 9 of Clubs

When we got to the table, the entire board was already out and there was a decent amount of chips in the pot. La Boissonnière made a 200K bet and that’s when Nick-Real Seide tried to buy him out by raising to 900K. La Boissonnière made the call and Seide instantly mucked.

The clock is ticking down on the late registration and re-entry period on Day 2B of the Main Event.

We have seen a huge influx of players during the last few levels, thanks not only re-entries but also a number of direct entries. The flip’n go’s have been very popular and have let a number of people join the Main Event for only $530, which has helped bring the total number of entries up to 567 and put over 1 billion chips in play. There is still an hour left to enter and re-enter so there is still time to get in on the action before it’s too late.

    Cimbolas busts Farrell

    • Level: 11
    • Small Blind: 25K
    • Big Blind: 50K

With the blinds at 25K/50K, Matas Cimbolas opened the action to 125K from middle position. Ramesh Puradchithasan, the next to act, made the call before the action got to Niall Farrell on the button. Farrell put in a three-bet to 600K, putting the pressure back on Cimbolas, however, he turned the tables on his opponents and moved all-in for roughly 2.5M. The raises chased Puradchithasan out of the hand, and Farrell quickly called off his stack. Hands were tabled to reveal that Cimbolas had Queen of Clubs Queen of Spades, putting him comfortably ahead of Farrell’s 8 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs. It was a bad board for pocket queens but the Ace of Diamonds King of Hearts Jack of Spades 10 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts run out did not connect with Farrell’s hand, and he calmly left the table.

Java Nipun just added a few more chips to his stack, when Casey Yontz pushed all-in over Nipun’s initial raise before the flop with King of Spades King of Hearts . Unluckily for him, that was exactly what Nipun was waiting for since he was holding Ace of Diamonds Ace of Clubs.
