    Zajmovic breaks 10 million

Ema Zajmovic, we remember, made history within our walls when she became the first woman to win an WPT Open Championship, in February of last year.

She just took out 2-time WSOP bracelt winner Mark Radoja. Ema made it 250K to go from the button, and Mark, sitting in the small blind, went all-in for his remaining 3M.

Ema asked for a count, in case some 500K chips were hidden somewhere, but she wasn’t going to lay this hand down:

Ema: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Spades
Mark: 9 of Clubs 9 of Hearts

Board: 7 of Spades Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds 10 of Spades Queen of Clubs

An unequivocal win. She eliminated a very dangerous player and chipped up nicely, a few hands away from the end of day.

Matas Cimbolas just got a big blind special that ended up costing him his tournament life.

Madhat Ramzy had opened the action, and Cimbolas defended his big blind. Cimbolas then led at the 2 of Clubs 6 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds flop with a bet of 400K. Ramzy then put out a raise to 1.2M, sending Cimbolas into the tank. He eventually made the call and then checked to Ramzy when the 5 of Hearts fell on the turn. Ramzy moved all-in following Cimbolas’ check for roughly 3M, which drew a snap call from Cimbolas, who immediately opened his 6 of Clubs 3 of Hearts. Ramzy rose from his seat and shrugged as he opened 7 of Hearts 7 of Spades, preparing to make his exit. But the 7 of Clubs hit the river, saving Ramzy’s tournament life and sending Cimbolas to the rail.

Play in Day 2A has been going pretty fast. So much that our partner partypoker made the decision to take a level off today’s schedule, in order to stay on course for the streaming arrangements of the last days. This means that our players are now playing the last level of the day. Last chance to run up the board before Day 3!

    Huge pot for Ketendjian

    • Level: 15
    • Small Blind: 50K
    • Big Blind: 100K
    • Button Ante: 100K
    • Chip Average: 6.3M
    • Remaining: 150

With the blinds at 50K/100K in level 15, David Eldridge opened the action from middle position before Hagop Ketendjian three-bet shoved from the big blind for nearly 8 million in chips. To everyone’s surprise, Eldridge quickly made the call and cards were tabled with nearly 160 big blinds up for grabs. Eldridge showed Jack of Diamonds Jack of Spades and Ketendjian opened Queen of Clubs Queen of Diamonds. The board, 6 of Spades 9 of Diamonds Ace of Spades 8 of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds, posed no threat to the queens, and Ketendjian took down a massive pot to put him among the chip leaders.

Short-stacked David Coleman open-raised all-in from early position for his last 800,000, and was met with a flat call from Karim Chatur in middle position. When action swung around to Marvin Rettenmaier in the blinds, he paused for a moment before announcing all-in for a little over 3.2 million. Karim made a quick call and hands were tabled.

David: Queen of Spades Queen of Diamonds
Karim: Ace of Spades Ace of Hearts
Marvin: King of Hearts King of Clubs

The 6 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 10 of Clubs 8 of Clubs Ace of Diamonds board was clean for Karim and his rockets, and he eliminated 2 opponents while propelling himself up the leaderboard.

The MILLIONS North America is a great opportunity to play with some of the greats, especially if you’re in the Main Event. Jeffrey Batmanian, Karim Chatur and David Coleman sure have their money’s worth in that department.

They are sharing table 59 with some decent poker players: Jonathan Duhamel, Michael Watson, Kristen Bicknell, Seth Davies, Marvin Rettenmaier and Anthony Ruberto. Over 40 million dollars in live earnings by the 6 of them, along with pretty much every title in the game.

    A walk in the park.
