Joao raised from the under-the-gun position, and was 3-bet to 125K by Lucas Greenwood on the button. After the big blind cold called, Joao committed his stack, which was a little over 1.1M.

Lucas thought for a while, and elected to push his own stack to the middle and got a fold from the big blind. Heads-up, they went to showdown:

Lucas: 8 of Clubs 8 of Hearts
Joao: King of Clubs Queen of Hearts

Board: 7 of Spades 10 of Hearts 9 of Spades 7 of Hearts 2 of Spades

An interesting flop for these hands!

When Sean B. raised to 50K, Deborah Vanneste called, and the action was folded to Toby Lewis who was sitting in the big blind with 434K and and a nice little pair… of aces.

The initial raiser folded, but Vanneste had a good pair of her own, although drawing slim:

Lewis: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Spades
Vanneste: 10 of Spades 10 of Hearts

Board: Jack of Spades 4 of Spades Jack of Hearts 8 of Diamonds 5 of Clubs

Lewis got his starting stack back. 171 entries have taken place so far, yesterday’s field have already been surpassed, with another two and a half levels to go.

As most of you probably know, Pascal Lefrançois was crowned champion of the MILLIONS Barcelona, the closing Event of Season 1 of the MILLIONS. Strong from this win, he is back on the felts of the MILLIONS circuit to defend his title on home turf.

Lefrançois is one of Canada’s toughest tournament players. Last week, his career took a happy turn when 1.7M Euros were sent his way, bringing his tournament earnings to over 5 million US dollars.

At Playground Poker Club, we are always happy to welcome local champions, and we wish him all the best in the MILLIONS North America.

    Tonkaaaa doubles up

    • Level: 5
    • Small Blind: 8K
    • Big Blind: 16K
    • Button Ante: 16K
    • Chip Average: 1.38M
    • Remaining: 119
    • Entries: 164

    2018/04/25 - 17:07 by Jôle Simard

Does luck favor the great? Parker ”Tonkaaaa” Talbot, who finished 6th in the MILLIONS High Roller earlier this week, checked the flop with a sizable pot in the middle. Gerald David also checked, and Karim Abdelhamid threw in 135K from the button position. Talbot called, and David went all-in for about 700K.

Abdelhamid folded, seemingly annoyed, and Talbot asked for a count. He realized that his 566K were covered, but he decided that it was worth it to go, maybe with the fact that he was on his first bullet in mind.

David: 4 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds
Talbot: 8 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs

Board: 8 of Diamonds 4 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 7 of Clubs Ace of Diamonds

He will not need to fire a second bullet just yet. As they say, gutter ball, corner pocket!
