Any list of top players over the past decade would certainly have Isildur1 – known in the real world as Viktor Blom – near the top. The Swedish online pro is best known for playing nosebleed stakes heads-up cash games, but he has also had tremendous success in a limited number of live tournament appearances as well.

The legend of Isildur1 begins with tales of a previously unknown player, known only by his username, playing at the highest stakes online in late 2009. He continued playing anonymously – enduring some wild swings along the way – in high stakes NL Hold’em and PLO games for over a year before he revealed his identity at the PCA in early 2011.

While Blom’s exploits as Isildur1 remain legendary online, he has also had success on the live tournament scene, despite never having played a full schedule. In 2012, he won a $100K buy-in Super High Roller event for over $1.25M, and most recently, in February 2018, he took down the €5,300 partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event, pocketing €850,000. His win in the MILLIONS included a lot of amazing play, but his hero call holding on a board to win the event has already been called the Hand of the Century. That name may be hyperbole, but nevertheless it’s an astonishing hand of poker to take down a major championship. Watch:

We are literally just hours away from kicking off MILLIONS North America and Season 2 of the very successful partypoker LIVE MILLIONS tour. The preparations have been underway for months, and starting this Saturday, April 21st at 12:00pm, the cards will be in the air for Event #1, the MILLIONS Open, and Event #2, the MILLIONS High Roller – both featuring a $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool.

With the most anticipated Poker Event in Canadian history about to descend on the biggest stand-alone poker room in North America, we’ve put together a guide containing everything you need to know to do what you do best: play this beautiful game of poker. Your Players Card

If this is your first visit to Playground Poker Club, you’ll need a Player’s Card. To get yours, your first stop should be the Player Services desk, located on your left when you enter the club. It only takes 5 minutes to get your card, but it’s still a good idea to arrive early and get it done. Even better? Fill out our online Registration form and your card will be ready to pick up when you arrive.

While you’re at Player Services, don’t forget to also ask them for our limited edition MILLIONS North America Card Protector. It’s FREE!

M & M (Merch and Massage therapy)

The Player Services desk is also where you can reserve one of our certified massage therapists (just $1.00 a minute!), and also purchase your iconic Playground Poker Club merchandise. The only way to guarantee you’ll be the most fashionable player at the tables when you return to your home poker room is by wearing your Playground Poker Club gear!

The Brush Desk

Just to the right of the Player Services desk is our Brush Desk: the control center for all Cash Game action at Playground Poker Club. We mostly spread NL Hold’em and PLO, but if you would like to get another type of game going, just ask at the Brush Desk and we will do our best to get a table going.

The Brush Desk will also organize and create sign up lists for Sit & Go Satellites for any of the events scheduled during the MILLIONS North America. The staff at the Brush Desk has their finger on the pulse of the action in the room, so they’ll be able to help you get the game you want any time, day or night.

By the way, our Bad Beat Jackpot is currently over $1,280,000, so you will definitely want to spend some time at our cash tables, where everyone gets a share when it hits. Money, money, money!

Continue your way past the Brush Desk and you will arrive at our Cashier. You’ll see a bank of ATMs – including a Bitcoin ATM – for your convenience, and the cashiers are located at the far end of this area. This is where you will register for every tournament you play, and also where you will redeem your payout coupon when you cash in an event. By the way, if you’re a travelling player and want a copy of a tournament ticket for your records, just ask for a copy when you register for your event – the cashiers are always happy to print duplicates. And we can’t stress this enough, get here early to ensure you get to your table on time and relaxed.

In this area you will also find partypoker LIVE representatives throughout the MILLIONS who will be more than happy to assist as needed or answer any questions you may have related to partypoker or your partypoker account.

The Tournament Hall

From here you make your way to the famed Playground Tournament Hall. There are more than 50 tables in the Hall, and we have added an additional 40 tables for the MILLIONS! Don’t worry about finding your way around – the table number is affixed to a sign on every Dealer’s Chair, and there will be plenty of signage in the Hall to guide you to the right place. If you are unsure about anything, staff will be out in full force – everyone is ready to assist you any time you need.

Something new since last year’s MILLIONS event – all of our permanent tables are equipped with USB jacks you can use to charge your mobile device while you’re playing. If you don’t have a charging cable, you can buy one at the Player Services desk for the price of just one red chip ($5).

At the entrance to the Tournament Hall is where you can pick up printed versions of MILLIONS Structure & Rules sheets. Even easier? Get the info you need in PDF format online on the main MILLIONS Schedule or on the MILLIONS Event Blog. Just look for the Info & Structure tab for each event.

The MILLIONS Event blog is also one of the key sources of event news, seating draws, results and other key information throughout the MILLIONS. Don’t forget to follow them on Facebook and Twitter. The Playground Event Blog desk is located on the right as you enter the Tournament Hall – come by and say hello!

The Live Stream

Whether you are playing or not, there will be Live Streams broadcast on My partypoker LIVE throughout the MILLIONS. You’ll need to create an account – and if you link it to your partypoker account, you will get two free $11 CPP Satellite tickets straight into your partypoker account. If you are wondering who you might see playing during the Live Stream (or at your table, for that matter), here’s a list of confirmed players you should know.

Satellites

If you would still like a chance to qualify for these events, there are plenty of Live Satellites scheduled and if you would like to try your luck online and qualify for the Main Event, partypoker is the place to go. Qualify for as little as $0.50.
