After opening from early position to 280K, Patrick Pilote-Renaud was facing an all-in from Martin Giguere, who 3-bet shoved him remaining 675K from the big blind. Patrick eventually made the call, but found himself far behind.

There is a pay jump between 9th and 10th place of $680, and the prizes are starting to get very interesting given the buy-in.

We saw 3 quick eliminations in the first orbit of Day 3 here in Event 1 of the Pokerstars Canada Cup, and we now have our ten finalists of the Event!
Edward Hakim was the first to go, as he 3-bet shoved his last 550K with 
pre-flop, and was called by Patrick Pilotte-Renaud who opened utg to 280K with 
.
The board was in favour of Patrick, showing 
, and just like that Edward’s deep run came to an abrupt end. Edward will collect $1,620 for his 13th place finish.
Shortly after, we saw Christophe Fracheboud hit the rail in 12th place, good for $1,920.
In the very next hand, Andre Vezina was all-in preflop with his remaining 490K, but his 
were trailing Jessie Wheatley’s

didn’t help Andre, who was sent home in 11th place with $1,920.

It’s Monday night, and as any regular player at Playground Poker Club will likely tell you, Monday nights are known at the club for their 6-max tournament! And with the Pokerstars Canada Cup in town this week, this Monday will feature a special tournament, with Event 3 – a $300 + $30 No Limit Hold’em 6-Max tournament, scheduled tonight at 7:30pm! If this weekend was any indication of how many players are in town for the series, we should expect to see quite a large attendance to this already popular event.
Tonight is also Game #2 in the NHL playoffs between the Montreal Canadians and the New York Rangers, and you can be certain that almost every television set in the club will be tuned in to the game. So what better way to spend your Monday night than to be playing in Canada’s premiere poker destination, with a complementary drink in hand and an exciting game of hockey to watch.
