As play continues in level 6 in Day 1A of the MILLIONS Open, nearly all of the 130 alternates have made it into the field. This opening event has already been immensely popular, as shown by the huge line up of alternate players at the tournament desk. Our tournament staff has been working non-stop to turn over seats as quickly as they become available to make sure that everyone gets their chance to play for part of the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The field is up to 506 total entries, including 63 re-entries, putting more than half a billion chips in play. Late registration is open for the first nine levels of play on each Day 1 so there’s still plenty of time to join this flight. This is one you don’t want to miss!

The Tournament Hall and the additional seating area have been filling up at a constant rate all day, and this is certain to continue as both of today’s tournaments allow entry and re-entry until the end of the break following level 9 – both events are about half way to that point.

Immediately following the first break, partypoker Chairman Mike Sexton took to the microphone to welcome all of the players to the MILLIONS North America, and on behalf of all players, he added some extremely kind words about Playground Poker Club, and in particular the fantastic dealer corps on staff here. Mike is no stranger to Playground, and for our part it’s wonderful to be able to continue our relationship in this way.

Traffic is very busy in the MILLIONS Open Day 1A. There are 406 entries at this very moment and the tournament desk is accepting alternates. There are 35 players on the alternate list – but the list is moving quickly and everyone is getting a seat without much of a delay.

The first event of the MILLIONS – the Open – is underway. The tournament is already into the second level of the day, and it has been a really busy day so far – there are already 358 entries including 10 re-entries. With that many entries, players are spread out all over the Tournament Hall but also in the tent.

Players have until end of level 9 to re-enter. They will play for twelve 40-minute levels to make their way into Day 2. Best of luck to all!
