Players are on a short break here in Event 8, and with 28 players left, two players have a distinct lead on the field. Jean-Francois Marin, the Event 1 champion, is leading the field with 186,000 in chips. Next on the leaderboard is Daniel Mackay, who holds 169,000 chips. There are many players around the 100,000 mark, but at this point it’s still anyones game.

Every month, Playground Poker Club extends an invitation for a free tournament to the top 30 players in their Tournament Leader Board. Players accumulate points for the standings by competing in daily tournaments, and placing in the top percentiles.
The February TLB tournament awarded ten seats to the Playground Winter Festival Main Event, valued at $1,100 each, and was played out earlier tonight. That’s a total prize pool of $11,000 offered by Canada’s premiere poker destination!

Just over half the field is gone here in the Survivor event, and with the players on a short break, we walk around the tournament tables to find the chip leaders. Here are the 5 biggest stacks we came across:
The registration period for Event 8 has just been closed, and with a few last minute entries, the final count is of 120 players. Given that the format pays the top 10% of the field an even amount, this means that exactly 12 players will receive a prize of $1,940!
At the moment, there are still 99 players left in the running. Stay tuned to find out who our survivors will be!
Three rounds have come and gone here in Event 8, and registration has climbed up to 108 entries. There is still half an hour to go before the registration period closes, and we should expect to see a few more players join in the action.

We’ve just completed the first level of the Survivor Event, and so far 79 players have taken their seats. Late registration will remain open for just over another hour, and once it is closed, we will know how many “Survivors” will be paid out tonight.
