Event 12 – Results & Payouts

Event 12 of the Playground Winter Festival was a $70 + $10 NL Hold’em Deepstack Turbo event that began on March 8th, 2015 at Playground Poker Club. The event attracted a total of 85 players, which generated a prize pool of $5,771.00. This prize pool was distributed according to the following table.

Note that there were two player deals in this tournament. First, when the last 10 players came together on the final table, they all agreed to take $10 from each of the published payouts to give to the player who finished in 10th place. Then, with 4 players remaining, the remaining players agreed to divide the prize pool via chip-chop. The payouts in the following table reflect this player agreement.

Event 12 Champions!

Play in Event 12 has come to a conclusion with the 4 remaining players agreeing to a chip-chop. As mentioned in the previous post, the blinds had more than caught up with the average stack, so even though one player (Garry) had about half of the chips in play, he felt it was prudent to lock up his winnings by agreement rather than rely on pure luck to drive him to the win.

The four remaining players were:

  3. Steve Horic – $815.00
  4. James Bruyere – $800.00

There are just 4 players remaining in Event 12, today’s Deepstack Turbo event that started at 1pm. Play has been very tight for some time now, and unfortunately this has the effect of allowing the blinds to rise faster than the average stack, so in this particular case the chip average is just 6.5 times the big BB – which is to say – it’s not very deep at this point. A winner should emerge any time now.

As play continues in the Main Event, at the other end of the Tournament Hall Event 12 has begun. This is a $70 + $10 Deepstack Turbo tournament. Late registration is open until 2:25pm and there are already 52 players in the event – so it’s looking like participation will be very strong for a weekday tournament!
