Play hasn’t even made it through a single level today and over 30 players – almost 10% of the remaining field – have already been eliminated.
This is quite standard for a multi-day tournament, as players who start with short stacks attempt an early double, but what surprises players new to a format like this is that this pace of play often continues straight through to the approach of the money bubble.
Approximately half of the remaining players must be eliminated before that milestone is hit, though – it will be interesting to see how quickly the field gets there.
