Play in Event 14 reached the final table and then, after a quick elimination… it just stopped. Play continued, but the players spent well over an hour without an elimination as shorter stacks kept doubling and, except for one player, the chip counts were more or less even around the table.
Jacques St-Amour was the largest stack and had been for some time, but Jacques is always amenable to a deal, and so a deal was made. The players chose to take $380 from the first four payout slots and add a new payout slot in 7th place and increase the prize for 6th.
Even so, play continued for some time without any drastic movement, and eventually the players worked out a stack-based chop that was acceptable to everyone, and play concluded. An important part of the story of the conclusion of this event is that Event 15, the $25 Bounty tournament, was deep in the late registration period – and most players wanted to play.
