After dropping to 24,000 just past the bubble, where the big blind was worth 10,000, Michael Korovine was able to rebuild his stack and drive it to victory. Heads-up play with Jean-Philippe Lehoux proved to be somewhat of a challenge, as chips went back and forth for nearly an hour and a half, but in the end they all ended up on Michael’s end of the table.
In the last hand of play, Michael check-called 200,000 on a flop, and then check-called the all-in when the came on the turn. He tabled for the nut-straight, and only had to fade 3 outs to win against the of Jean-Philippe. The river was a brick (), and that sealed the win for the local hero, who collected a cool $11,500 for his victory.
Congratulations Michael!
