Play in Event 5 has reached the second break of the night and during the break we were able to find 3 players who have started to distance themselves from the field. The top three players now all have over 80K in chips, but there are a number of players trailing closely behind in the 65K – 75K range, so their lead is not in any way secure.

Event 5 is nearing the end of level 7, and of the 128 players that started, there are still 81 left in contention.

There are three tournaments tonight – Day 2 of Event 4, a one-day Mixed Hold’em/Omaha tournament (Event 6) and Event 5 – a $50 + $10 Freeze that got underway at 7:30 tonight.

In this event, players start with 15K in chips and play through 20 minute levels and this format has proved to be extremely popular over the years, in that it’s accessible to any poker player but still has a structure that allows a decent amount of play for a one-night event.

So far, 96 players have taken their seats in the event, which is now in level 2. Late registration is open for just over an hour yet, so there’s still plenty of time to make your way to Playground and compete in a very nice event.
