Nicolas Bastien has doubled through Levi Stevens and at almost the identical moment, Daniel Charette doubled through Rodney Ramalho.

Nicolas doubled from 280K when his outdrew Levi’s on a board reading , while Daniel took a more circuitous route when his faced Rodney’s . Rodney took a commanding lead on the flop of but the on the turn put Daniel in the lead and the on the river just sealed it.

Play has been very active in the early going. If it continues like this, we’re in for quite a ride today.

Levon Dedeyan just suffered two disastrous hands in a row and has been eliminated in 18th place.

In the first hand – just the 4th hand of the day – Levon flopped a set of deuces only to be beaten by a club flush that came on the turn. Quyen Dao was the winner of the hand and it left Levon with under 300K. The very next hand, Shawn Martell open shoved and Levon snap called – only to be bitterly disappointed when the cards were exposed.

Play has begun on Day 3 of the Main Event!

A quick schedule note – because there are just 18 players left, in all likelihood the tournament will play to conclusion today. That being said, if 7 levels have passed (the original schedule for the day) and the players remaining decide that they would prefer to come back tomorrow, that is how things will proceed.

In about 5 minutes, play will resume in the Main Event of the Playground Winter Festival. There are 18 players remaining, and when play resumes they will start level 24 of the tournament, with blinds at 12K/24K/a4K.

The next player eliminated will win $4,990.00 and payouts will jump every 3 eliminations until the final table. The next full redraw will occur when 10 players remain (final table).

The two remaining tables seem relatively well balanced in terms of the number of chips on each table, though Table 37 is interesting due to the fact that the top two chip leaders will be seated side by side in Seats 7 and 8. As well, the same table features the player with by far the most impressive poker resume in Jason Duval.

That being said, resumes don’t win tournaments, poker play in the event does – and play is set to start any minute now.

There were a total 494 entries, and of these, 139 qualified for Day 2 and began play at 12pm today. Play resumed in level 14 and continued for 10 hour-long blind levels. Play was suspended for the day at the end of level 23.

The tournament will resume on Day 3 at 12pm on March 9th, with 18 players still in contention for the first prize of $100,000.00.
