Levon Dedeyan just suffered two disastrous hands in a row and has been eliminated in 18th place.

In the first hand – just the 4th hand of the day – Levon flopped a set of deuces only to be beaten by a club flush that came on the turn. Quyen Dao was the winner of the hand and it left Levon with under 300K. The very next hand, Shawn Martell open shoved and Levon snap called – only to be bitterly disappointed when the cards were exposed.

The board didn’t change anything: and Levon collected his payout coupon and made his way to the cage.

Play has begun on Day 3 of the Main Event!

A quick schedule note – because there are just 18 players left, in all likelihood the tournament will play to conclusion today. That being said, if 7 levels have passed (the original schedule for the day) and the players remaining decide that they would prefer to come back tomorrow, that is how things will proceed.

In about 5 minutes, play will resume in the Main Event of the Playground Winter Festival. There are 18 players remaining, and when play resumes they will start level 24 of the tournament, with blinds at 12K/24K/a4K.

The next player eliminated will win $4,990.00 and payouts will jump every 3 eliminations until the final table. The next full redraw will occur when 10 players remain (final table).

The two remaining tables seem relatively well balanced in terms of the number of chips on each table, though Table 37 is interesting due to the fact that the top two chip leaders will be seated side by side in Seats 7 and 8. As well, the same table features the player with by far the most impressive poker resume in Jason Duval.

That being said, resumes don’t win tournaments, poker play in the event does – and play is set to start any minute now.

There were a total 494 entries, and of these, 139 qualified for Day 2 and began play at 12pm today. Play resumed in level 14 and continued for 10 hour-long blind levels. Play was suspended for the day at the end of level 23.

The tournament will resume on Day 3 at 12pm on March 9th, with 18 players still in contention for the first prize of $100,000.00.

Day 2 of the Main Event ended with 18 players left, and leading the way is Hugo Fontaine, who just recently took the chip lead away from Jordan Miraglia in a hand that had table 62 buzzing.

After betting the flop, Jordan lead the turn with a bet of 125,000 and showing on the board. Hugo moved all-in for just about 750,000 total, and found a quick call from Jordan, who was in very bad shape, as his were far behind the of Hugo. The river brought the , and as this was a blank, Hugo scooped the biggest pot of the tournament thus far, worth just over 1,800,000.

Hugo Fontaine is the chip leader after Day 2

With the recent eliminations of Eric Afriat and Frederic Pierre, the Main Event has been reduced to its two final 9-handed tables. Almost a full level remains before the conclusion of Day 2, and after that players will bag and tag their chips onto Day 3, which is scheduled for 12pm tomorrow.

There was a full tournament re-draw when the Main Event reached 27 players. Here is the new arrangement of the players on the three tables in play. The next re-draw will be at 18 players remaining.

The Main Event is a few minutes into it’s 21st round, and play will continue through until the end of level 23. We’ve almost reached our final 3 tables, as only 28 players remain, and there is a full seating redraw scheduled at 27 players.

In the last half-level, two players have managed to bring their stacks up to the 7-figures, as both Levon Dedeyan and Jordan Miraglia are sitting atop just over 1-million in chips each.
