When Michael Frenkel limped in, Chris Arvanitis got to see a flop for free. He flopped a draw and tried to pick up the chips, but Michael was made.

Chris: 9 of Clubs 7 of Clubs
Michael: Ace of Hearts 10 of Spades

Board: 8 of Spades 10 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts Queen of Spades 10 of Clubs

Chris missed his straight draw and left in 12th place, good for $450, fresh off a pay jump.

Recent eliminations: Ioannis Tsontakis, Robert Moran and Salim Chorfi all got $390 for their efforts.

Eliminations have considerably slowed down since the break. Only a handful of confrontations took place, including one between Alex Plourde and Robert Moran. Alex raised pre-flop and barreled every single street, including an all-in bet on the river. Robert tanked for a while before calling time on himself, and finally folded, opting to save 250K for a clearer spot, but also leaving the 400K pot in the hands of what turned out to be a stone cold bluff.

Here is gallery featuring all 15 remaining players:

    Michael Frenkel
    Salim Chorfi

    Plourde reclaims the top spot

Alex Plourde was leading the field at the first break, and although he was never in trouble after that, he left the limelight to others for a while. He is now back on top, presiding the event with 518K!

The chip distribution is very unusual, as the average is at 198K and we found only 3 stacks in the 25-player field above 300K mark. This means that most players are very close to the average.

    • Alex Plourde – 518K
    • Ioannis Tsontakis – 422K
    • Salim Chorfi – 359K

    Attacking the bubble

    • Level: 17
    • Small Blind: 5K
    • Big Blind: 10K
    • Button Ante: 10K
    • Chip Average: 148K
    • Remaining: 33
    • Entries: 245

    2018/05/21 - 1:28 by Jôle Simard

We are just a few elimination from the bubble, but somehow that doesn’t keep our bounty hunters away from confrontations.

Marc Lavergne was the initial raiser in this hand, and Marcello Iacovella went all-in for about 40K. Chris Arvanitis went all-in himself for over 100K. Lavergne was puzzled, and used the entirety of his time before folding, reluctantly.

Marcello: Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts
Chris: 10 of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Board: 8 of Hearts Ace of Hearts 7 of Clubs 4 of Clubs Jack of Diamonds

The best hand held. It wasn’t the case on the neighboring table, where Ioannis Tsontakis was all-in and at risk against Michael Bellizi.

Ioannis: Ace of Spades 9 of Spades
Michael: 10 of Spades 10 of Clubs

Board: Ace of Diamonds 8 of Hearts Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts 4 of Hearts

Ioannis found an ace in the window to stay alive. When one more player hits the rail, the bounty will move to hand-for-hand play.

    Lavergne runs deep… again

Marc Lavergne is everywhere in this Power Weekend. He has built stacks in almost every event, and tonight he is looking to finally taste a top 3 prize.

Arnold Yaxley raised to 14K from the button, and when Marc Leroux tried to pick up the chips by going all-in for over 100K, Lavergne knew that this was his chance to earn a stack worthy of going the distance. He snap called from the big blind, and Arnold folded.

Leroux: Ace of Clubs 7 of Diamonds
Lavergne: Queen of Diamonds Queen of Clubs

Board: 10 of Spades 9 of Clubs 10 of Diamonds 2 of Spades King of Diamonds

Lavergne had 93K before the hand, and is now working with a 200K stack.

Kuong Chhe Kuoch runs it up

    • Big Blind: 4K
    • Button Ante: 4K
    • Chip Average: 107K
    • Remaining: 46

John Yang Huynh was already doing extremely well, but in the last moments before the break, he enjoyed a nice boost. Four of a kind allowed him to leave everyone else behind. He is followed by his table mate Kuong Chhe Kuoch who seems to have a lot of fun collecting chips and Robert Moran, who was hitting everything for a few levels.
