The rest of the players folded and Felix turned over Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs while Simon Pier held 10 of Hearts 10 of Clubs. The board ran out 9 of Hearts 7 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs 2 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds and the tens held up.

Phannasophea thought about it for a few moments, and made the call with Jack of Spades 9 of Spades. He was up against Mark’s Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs. The board ran out 10 of Clubs Queen of Hearts 5 of Spades 8 of Diamonds Ace of Hearts , and Phannasophea’s straight knocked Mark out in 10th place.

    Final table

With the elimination of Philippe Chapdelaine in 11th place, we are now down to our final table!

    A few eliminations!

  • Level: 30

  • Big Blind: 100K

  • We have lost a few players in the last level and a half.

    • 12th place: Antoine Poirier, $1,865

Antoine took advantage of an unopened pot to shove his 590K stack from the button, and Felix Sides snap called from the big blind with 8 of Spades 8 of Hearts. Antoine turned over Queen of Hearts 2 of Clubs, and failed to improve once the board ran out.

    • 13th place: David Guay $1,575

Simon Pier raised his button to 215K, and David Guay quickly shoved his 1.5M stack from the big blind. Simon Pier thought about it, but not for too long, and eventually called with Queen of Hearts Queen of Spades. David turned over a pair of fours, and saw no help on the board to finish in 13th place.

    • 14th place: Joey Silver, $1,575

Everyone folded around to Joey Silver’s button, and he shoved his remaining 715K with Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades and got called by the Mehdi in the BB, who turned over 7 of Diamonds 7 of Spades. The board of 8 of Diamonds 3 of Hearts 6 of Hearts Jack of Clubs 10 of Spades was no help to Joey, and Mehdi added a few more chips to his already monster stack.

    • 15th place: Mohamad Mahbouba, $1,575

After a calm time of it from early in Day 1, Mohamad had an extremely “interesting” (read: swingy) end of Day 2 and Day 3. He finally succumbed to Erica when he shoved into her pocket Aces.

    • 16th place: Stephen Baker, $1,335

Stephen Baker was eliminated after it folded around to his small blind and he open-shoved his 1.2M chip stack. Mehdi in the BB was sitting on a monster stack of over 5.2M, but after thinking for a while called holding Queen of Spades 10 of Spades. Stephen had 9 of Spades 9 of Hearts. The flop came out Ace of Spades 2 of Spades 4 of Spades and the 8 of Spades on the turn sealed the deal. The river was a meaningless Ace of Hearts.

    • 17th place: Patrick David Hu-A-Kam, $1,335
    • 18th place: Alexandre Boyer, $1,335

  • At the very end of level 28, Andrew Helleur busted in 19th place for $1,135 leaving just 18 players left in Event 1. The tournament is now down to 2 tables of 9 players each. The final table will start with 10 players left and there will be a full seating redraw at that point.

    Action on all three tables!

  • Chip Average: 1.5M
  • Remaining: 19

  • Day 3 of event 1 is action packed so far! We’ve already lost 14 players in the first level and a half. In the past few minutes, all three tables had a big hand going on.

On table 60, we saw Joey Silver double up to just over 1M with his Queen of Spades Queen of Clubs , which held against Erica Freeman’s King of Spades 8 of Spades.

On table 59, it was Mathieu Tanguay’s Ace of Spades King of Hearts which held versus George Kazarian’s all-in shove with Ace of Diamonds 8 of Spades. The pot was also worth around 1M chips. George walks out with 1.135$ for his run.

On table 58, we arrived at the river to see Mehdi Alami bet 400K into a pot of around 1.5M on a 8 of Clubs 10 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs. Phannasophea Muong tanked for a minute before announcing all-in for about 1M more. When Mehdi asked the dealer for a count, Phannasophea misinterpreted ‘count’ for ‘call’, and tabled his Queen of Hearts Jack of Hearts for the high straight. Once the issue was resolved, Mehdi was given his rightful option of calling or folding, and he mucked his hand.

  • With 8 exits already the tournament is down to 27 players, which means that table 61 has broken and the players have been distributed among the other tables. Table 61 had a ton of chips on it – the chip leader was seated there along with 3 other above-average stacks – so it will be interesting to see how the other players are able to react to the newbies at their table.
