Two of the chip leaders just clashed in what turned out to be a huge pot. Eric Guindon opened the action with a raise to 15,500 from utg. He was called by Joseph Abou Khalil from middle position, and they went heads-up to the flop.

With the board showing , Eric placed a c-bet of 25,000 which was called by Joseph. The turn brought the , and Eric followed up with another bet, this time of 50,000. Joseph came over the top by announcing all-in, and after a moment of hesitation, Eric made the call.

With only four cards that can help Eric, he was eliminated as the river brought a meaningless . With that pot, Joseph leaped far ahead of the field, sitting on just about 400,000.

Tournament: Event 1 - The Wild $150 ($135 + $15 NL Hold'em Re-entry)

Jean-Francois came to Day 3 as the chip leader, and although his stack fluctuated throughout the night, at times falling well below the average stack, he managed to close the deal and win the opening event of this year’s Playground Winter Festival!

It took 31 hands of heads-up versus his opponent Francis Dery, and they started the battle fairly even in stacks. On the 6th hand, Jean-Francois took a chunk out of Francis, as he 4bet shoved on the flop versus a 6-million chip 3bet to get a fold out of Francis. After that, Francis was playing catchup, but never managed to rebuild his stack.

In the last hand, Francis limped from the small blind, and the two players went to see a flop. With the board showing , Jean-Francois check-raised all-in and found a snap call. He tabled , and needed some help to overcome Francis’s . The on the turn changed nothing, however the on the river gave Jean-Francois a straight, awarding him the pot, and the first place prize!

With just over 3 million in chips, Sean Windover moved all-in from the button, and was faced with a call from Jean-Francois Marin in the small blind.

Sean turned over , and was racing against the of Jean-Francois. It was all but over on the flop though, as Jean-Francois flopped a set on the board to bring this event down to heads-up.

Patrick Fortin was all-in and at risk easily 5 or more times tonight on this final table, and has had an excellent track record thus far, winning them all. In this last hand however, he ended up on the losing end as his failed to improve versus the of Yan Fantinato on a board.
