Day 2 of the Wild $150 is now over, and 14 players will be back tomorrow for the completion of this opening event of the Playground Winter Festival.

Jean-Francois Marin (4,285,000) will return with the chip lead, and has a fair lead on his opponents. Second in chips is Brian Bond (3,155,000), who is closely followed by Francis Dery (3,150,000) and Tomaz Kalinowski (3,050,000). Full player reported chip counts can be found here.

The Wild $150 is now in it’s last level of play for the day. Shortly before the level change, we say Douglas Best get eliminated by Brian Bond in 17th place.

In the first hand of level 29, Franco Casarcia hit some bad luck, as he found himself all-in preflop versus Jean-Francois Marin holding the same hand (AQ off suit), however Jean-Francois managed to run a flush to knock Franco out in 16th place.

Moments later, Devon Morgan moved in with just over 5 big blinds, and was eliminated in 15th by Michel Gamigna.

Bianca Perron was amongst the shorter stacks of the tournament when she moved in with . Unfortunately for her, Jean-Francois Marin made the call with . Bianca failed to improve on the board, finishing in 19th place.

Shortly after, we say Harry Strul fall to the hands of Stephan Belisle, as he got all his money in on the flop of a board that ran out . Harry’s was second best to Stephan’s .

Isham Yamani, who made the final table in the last Wild $150 back in November of 2014, has just been eliminated. With only 370,000 to his name, he moved in from middle position in an unopened pot, and was called only by Michel Gramina.

Michel ran a straight on the board, eliminating Isham in 20th place.

Mino Dall Osto was sitting on the button in an unopened pot, and threw in a raise. Brian Bond placed a 3bet from the big blind, to which Mino responded with an all-in for a little over 1.1M. Bond made the call, and both players tabled their hands:

The board was of no help to Mino, who placed 21st out of 1,441, good for $1,450. Brian now has around 3,400,000, taking over the chip lead at this stage of the tournament.

 

Level 27 has just come to a close, which means that Day 2 of the Wild $150 is just 2 levels away from completion.

During this last level, we lost a few players, as Martin Dej and Cedric Larochelle exited early, finishing 26th and 25th respectively.

We then saw a huge hand develop on table 62, as Richard Johansen 3bet to 240,000 from the big blind after Jay Srinivasan opened from utg+1. Richard c-bet 300,000 on the board, which was called by Jay. They both checked the turn, and Richard then moved in for around 700,000 on the river. Jay made the quick call, and turned over for a full house, as Richard tabled and was eliminated in 24th.

Moments later, on table 66, Gianfranco Giordano moved in his remaining 6 big blinds from utg, and was called by Pierre Olivier Guay from late position. Gianfranco needed help, but his couldn’t improve versus Pierre’s on the board, and he was sent home in 23rd place.

At the very end of the level, Guillaume Massicotte moved in from utg with 660,000, and got the call from Pierre-Olivier Guay in middle position. Guillaume showed , and failed to improved versus Pierre’s on a board to end his run in 22nd place.

The Wild $150 is now in level 25, and the field is down to it’s final 5 tables. There are still 4 more 40-minute levels to complete tonight before the remaining players bag and tag their chips onto Day 3, where we will be crowning a champion.

Francis Dery (2,300,000) has taken over the chip lead for the time being, and has quite the lead over the rest of the players. Not far behind is Jean-Francois Marin (1,550,000) in second, and Stephan Belisle (1,525,000) in third.

Players will go on break in around half an hour, and at this point we will bring you an update on all the remaining chip counts.
